I’m a long time Porsche GT3/RS owner and huge Porschephile. The C8 Corvette Z06 is the first Corvette that I feel compelled to own because I absolutely love naturally aspirated engines. Since hearing the V8s in the Corvettes at LeMans in 2019, I’ve wanted to own one. The Porsche RSR flat six engines sounded epic but those V8 Corvettes were the best sounding engines at that race.
Excited to see the build and options on the upcoming Z06; it was like yesterday when you presented the GT500 video. Life goes on :)) and hope there will be no dealer markup on the Z06 lol

Wrong. It doesn't outperform the 720s, which starts under $300k. And it comes nowhere close to the performance of the 765LT. On regular road surfaces, the 992 Turbo S will most likely reach the 1/4 mile distance quicker than the 720s (thanks to its AWD system). We saw it happen during a Carwow drag race. But that does not mean it is faster than the 720s. By the time both cars reach the 1/4 mile, the 720s records speeds well over 140mph. In fact, Road & Track recorded 1/4 mile trap speeds of 148.2mph, when it tested the 720s. The 992 Turbo S gets nowhere close to those speeds, over the 1/4 mile distance. Both the F8 Tributo and 488 Pista are also faster than the Porsche. And even the less powerful 600LT beats the 992 Turbo S in some performance metrics. I think from a 60mph roll race, the 600LT will probably beat the 992 Turbo S.

Well, you will just lose your money, if you bet on the 992 Turbo S against supercars like the 765LT, 720s, F8 Tributo and 488 Pista, at the drag strip. The dragstrip is where official 1/4 mile drag races are conducted.
I was all about the Z51 because it's such a bargain, but then I read about the Z06 and now that's the one I want. I very much prefer high revving,naturally aspirated dynamics over forced induction. Don't get me wrong, the surge of power and thrust you feel in a supercharged 'Vette is otherworldly, but it cannot match the pure linear feel of a high revving natural engine. This is why the Porsche 911 GT3 has always been one of my favorite cars. It isn't the most powerful or the fastest (although it's plenty fast enough), but the driving experience that kind of powertrain provides can;t be duplicated.
Great video! I never was a corvette fan until I test drove a C5 and C6 Z06. I ended up with a C6Z and it’s a lot of fun. And in 10 years I’ll probably get one of these lol

The two electric models will be all wheel drive which is a huge deal to not mention it here. There will be 600hp electric AWD and the Zora Hybrid 1,000hp AWD.

All this talk about American cars not being able to compete with their Euro counterparts, but Chevy’s FIRST attempt at mid-engine performance blows them out of the water and it is offered at a fraction of the price.
The new corvette also doesn’t come with ridiculous upkeep and maintenance cost the way Euros do.
The Zora will do 0-60 in 2 seconds.

I'm not a fan of automatics or DC transmissions anyone can hit the gas and go but not just anyone can hit the clutch, switch gears, and hit the gas and go fast. Its the thrill and enjoyment you get when hitting the gears at the right time and going fast.

The Z06 will be well priced but 80 thousand to low. Some options in the base model drive the cost upto 80 thousand. I think more like 95 to 100 thousand

I think the hybrid is going to have the LT2 & not the 5.5L. I can’t see them making that a more powerful/faster option than the Z06.
I'm interested in the aesthetics upgrade the Z06 will bring. The base c8 looks really good, but it's just lacking something.

We’ve seen what Porsche can do with much less. Get the transmission and the launch sorted and you have a winner. The 911/992 Carrera S comes out of the hole faster, and pulls away from the C8 from a dig and from a roll. And it’s got 444 /390. And that’s not even the AWD variant.

I wish this Z06 wasn't a floatplane crank. I get they did it to make the really stick it to the exotics. Flat plane is less balanced though which isn't great for longevity. I am sure they will design it decently, but it would be better without the flat plane crank. I don't care if a car sounds more like a ferrari.

Honda didn’t do anything wrong besides the price. A used NSX is a pretty good buy. The C8 has better performance but the NSX looks nicer

Let me make this as clear as possible, "I DON'T CARE IF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS FASTER!" We aren't going to have the opportunity to DRIVE our cars much longer and I want to be engaged, not just point the car. GIVE ME A MANUAL TRANS! If I wanted to just race the car then fine, I would live with the auto trans, but that's not what I plan to do. Give us a choice! Just take a look at the figures of the sales for the manual trans on the C7 and about 25% are buying the stick. I will not buy a Corvette until I have the opportunity to buy one with a manual transmission...period!
