    Excellent, clear explanation. I inherited by Grandad's old wall clock and love it. Now I know how to keep it going. So thanks! 👍

      Before anything else just clean all the parts. If it is weight driven clock pull the chain so the weight goes up again. If it is spring driven rewind the clock. Now if you do all these then still the pendulum stops. It needs an alignment.

      Thank you for the reply. It is working now. I cleaned it, rewinded it and gave pendulum a bit of movement.

    I have an antique Vienna style wall clock, I do know how to adjust the pendulum to make the clock run fast or slow, But I am having problems as to why my clock "example" runs 14 minutes too fast in just 4 hours even though I brought the pendulum right down as far as it can go?

    • @Woodys_Hobbies
      @Woodys_Hobbies Před rokem

      Try to lower the pendulum all the way down to its last adjustment. Then observe the speed. And this also a trial and error method until you get the exact speed.

      Hello there!!! Try first to check the "Escapement" part of the the clock. Adjust it properly but be "Cautious". Or the safest way try to put a penny on the pendulum. Before you put the coin set the nut to a half of it's adjustment. By the way if it is not it's original stock pendulum that can cause a problem like that. But it can be modified.

      @@Woodys_Hobbies thanks for reply, i think may be you right, its not an original pendulum, my problem is i dont know how much weight for original pendulum or how it must be, current weight pendulum is estimation 130 Gram (without hands pendulum). There is other complicated problem, when i try to increase weight with put in some metal in it, clock movement wont running continuosly, approx 3-5 minute then stop. Im ensure pendulum is in balance state, tic toc sound seems normal.

      just adjust the pendulum to the center then add a single coin if it is advance then put another coin. I'm try here to set it at the middle the pendulum so you have a leeway when you get the exact weight. just try the coin put it inside the pendulum one at a time. Then if it is not very advance then try to adjust now the nut of the pendulum. hope it helps you.
