    • @findingmimigeorge
      @findingmimigeorge  Před 4 lety +5

      Thank you!!😊 There's no difference at all. I just like to fold it into 8 to save time with measurement and cutting. If folding it into 4 is what you're comfortable with, then do that. There are times that I have to fold it into 4 myself, but it's usually when the fabric I'm working with is very thick.

    • @findingmimigeorge
      @findingmimigeorge  Před 4 lety +6

      Thank you for watching my video! I used the hip measurement because this particular DIY circle skirt doesn't require a zip. That way, it's easy to wear the skirt and it adds some gathers to it around the waist, making it look even more stylish 😁

    Sooo.... Idk how you got a skirt out of this because i have watched this video over and over and i used your exact folding an math and after i ruined a beautiful piece of fabric I realized that you only have it folded for 6 layers. 😢
    Divide your measurements by the number of layers.

  • @mauricehayes9685
    @mauricehayes9685 Před 2 měsíci

    The video seemed like you folded 3 times. Wouldn't that equal 6 pieces instead of 8? Did you skip a fold for the sake of time?

    • @findingmimigeorge
      @findingmimigeorge  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi Maurice,
      I folded 3 times. Let me break it down for you:
      1 fold = 2 layers
      2 folds = 4 layers
      3 folds = 8 layers
      Basically, with each fold, you're doubling the amount of layers. This means 4 folds will result in 16 layers. Do you understand?
      PS: If you're still unsure, you can practice with a piece of paper. I hope this helps! ❤️
