Blood Bowl 2, the sequel to the video game adaptation of Games Workshop's famous board game that combines American football with the fantasy world of Warhammer will release worldwide on Tuesday, September 22 on PC and consoles. Players only have a few days left to benefit from all the pre-order offers, while Steam pre-ordered players have already invaded the pitches of the pre-order beta.
Today, we're unveiling the last video from the series of videos dedicated to Blood Bowl 2 races: this one is dedicated to the Orcs and the High Elves, two teams that have nothing in common.
Orcs teams are very well protected, with a high average armour value. The reasonably priced cost of their players and the strength of their Blitzers and Black Orcs allow for really offensive tactics. A little bit less versatile than Humans, Orcs still offer a certain variety in their game that is not given to other equally strong races.
Having access to almost unlimited funds, High Elves can afford to have better armour than other teams. They can also count on their ability to play a superb aerial game, thanks to their first class passers and catchers. First they distract their opponents by luring them to one part of the pitch, and then they throw the ball to the opposite side of the field, laughing all the way they score touch down after touch down.
Blood Bowl 2 is currently available for pre-order, with, as a bonus, one of two additional races (the Wood Elves or the Lizardmen). Players who pre-order the game on Steam also receive immediate access to the Multiplayer Beta of the game, currently running!

...I never imagined football in a turn based style of anything. I'm kinda stunned.
It's based off the tabletop game of the same name.
No offense, but this game wasn't made for sports fans. It's been made for Warhammer fans and the like, which is totally fine with me and many others.
I love the game it’s very fun
the stop start nature of gridiron makes it seem like its turn based compared to something like rugby league or union.

There is a multitude of things you can't actually do with the Orc team that is done in this video... it's quite misleading. Like skipping an entire elf turn.
I think most of it was scrapped. Like all three orcs attacking AND moving,not just one. This is an old game
Apparently they can throw a forward pass after the line of scrimmage too? Unless that's a bloodbowl rule that I'm not aware of

+WrathzRevenge And copious amounts of thoroughly-enjoyed violence! Honestly; Games Workshop made a mistake not continuing to make the original tabletop version of this. But I guess it did open up the niche for Dreadball to slip into.
(Dreadball's sort-of like Mantic Games' version of Blood Bowl, only set in space, uses aliens, is played on a hex grid, isn't based on American football and has completely different gameplay mechanics. A lot of people were worried that it would turn out like a Blood Bowl rip-off while it was on Kickstarter but that's thankfully far from the case)

I wish it was more like NFL Blitz but with gore, the turn based is a no for me but I do like the game

It was only to make an action-packed video. You can't pass and throw in the same turn in the game, no worry there :)

i like orcs. tough, hit hard and you can still run a passing game
+OPShergottite I save the legendary orc pass for emergencies, you never build a thrower to actually be a passing piece, and many players actually end up ditching him and just having a blitzer carry the ball and then it becomes pretty much a full running team. Heck, I don't even often pass with my Dark Elves, I prefer to run the ball, but having agility 4 on every player means passing is always an option if I get bogged down midfield.
Just got this game for my PS4 Pro and man it is fun. I bought all the DLC packs and cannot stop playing.

I brought and returned this game the same day. Who ever heard of a turn-based football game. Mutant football league all day.
Buy Blood Bowl Chaos Edition because that has a rts mode

Waaaaiiiit, did Cyanide just cheat in their "tutorial" video. You're only allowed to pass once a turn, and that includes throwing goblins. These vids are horrible.

+Doom guy Not everything. Almost everything associated with W 40K is not turn based. There was also Warhammer Online, and some action RPGs. And Total War : Warhammer is not turn-based.
In fact turn-based Warhammer video games are a minority (Blood Bowl, Mordheim, Regicide, a few mobile games and maybe some strategy games that are inspired by Warhammer like Fantasy Wars).
I would love more Warhammer games, especially if they are turn based.

Only One tackle animation? Only human cheerleaders? Only a few Heads to choose from. Thats Kind of disapointing. Im still excited, but i know it becomes faster boring this Way.

+messergabel I am a bit deflated with only having human cheerleaders as well. The original BB had various races for cheerleaders and their boobs bounced as well.
Also the human cheerleaders in BB2 look a bit green to me as well like they are all sick with some illness.

+Władca Wymiaru It's Warhammer fantasy, so technically sorta same universe as 40k, at least same franchise (Games Workshop) just not in space, in fantasy times with wizards and magic instead of lasers and Space Marines!
