WOW! It is nice for me to see other FL counties going through this too. Are you still investigating this? I have personal stories to share as a teacher from PA that moved here 3 years ago. It has been awful (not my job .. the DOE). I have e-mails from the DOE and everything on why they cannot certify me fully. To keep my teaching job, the state also tells me I need to take reading and ELL classes each year even though I took them in college.
I also have 2 other co-workers going through the same experience. We are in Collier County - all certified with "reciprocity" from other states (PA, IN, MI) but MANY limitations and MUCH added work. Let me know if we can add to your story in any way. I would love for this topic to blow up and get resolved.

Teachers are leaving in an alarming rate, because of politicians, low pay, student behavior, indoctrination, teacher burnout, which is effecting teachers mental health. I agree, It’s not about the money at all. You want to be at a work environment that won't lead to depression, or burnout.

Get rid of all the Woke administrators in all these school districts and pay good teachers in the sciences well with smaller class sizes. Whatever good teachers are paid is worth it when they have to deal with the parenting that delivers these kids to them unwilling to learn.

The concept of “wokeness” perpetuated by right wingers is one reasons teachers leave. Being a good human and valuing all people regardless of creed is not woke, it is human decency. Florida went to war with public education because the governor used misinformation to attain votes. Now teachers ate afraid to teach real history because some conservative white people think diversity and equality plus teaching slavery equals “anti-white.”
