He's definitely good, but better than Alex Skolnick, Gary Holt, Marty Friedman and Kirk Hammett? I don't think so.

Well, Friedman and Skolnick barely write. Gary has written some killer riffs though, and so has Kirk.

Kirk is one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time and has written some of the most memorable and iconic solos of all time - only a fool would try to claim otherwise. There's a reason why he's been the lead guitarist for the world's biggest and best metal band for almost 40 years - because he's fucking great.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "The Ultra-Violence" is the best debut thrash metal album ever.
It's good for sure....
But metal is like ice cream, so many flavors for so many tastes.

I saw Death Angel many times over the years in SF clubs along with Swarm. The saying always was that they were the best SF band. They got close- one hit song was all they needed.

That first black n white Jackson is the winner for me. I remember seeing photos in Kerrang of Rob playing that in the 80s, looked so cool to my 16 y/o self!
I'm loving how they look. The colors are so bold to. I love how are the top they are pointy and diagonal to. The battle scares mean you putting the wear and tear into it. Playing you're heart out ! I got to see Rob and his band for the first time last month and was blown away! Coincidentally, finally found the right USA Custom Shop for me after getting one of the new MIJ ones when they just came out. Better late than never…

The early Jacksons are in every way superior to the crap they are producing now. That reverse white Explorer(i never seen that one Rob)is SICK! I think the blue reverse soloist was used in the Bored vid. My favorites are the limited series Archtops who originated on the san dimas factory

@@Dixie_Normiz I've also heard that his signature model wasn't the easiest guitar to build. But they could at least mass produce his first star bodies. They did an affordable Gus G model, so why not Rob's star body?

Someone I knew that was really murdered had a light blue guitar for healing.
Not too bad a body style. Pretty hard to deviate from the Paul strat standards. Edit: IMO Jackson has always released exceptional body styles- particularly the Rhodes V. Absolutely iconic and straight up mastery of shape.
