    That is exactly my problem! Tried with the tips given by Kevin - no result and then saw your comment. My problem is that I don't have any tech skills and seems I need to return the machine to the seller... Anyway, thanks for the info, I have got an idea how it all works inside of the pedal... Greetings from Bern, Switzerland!

    I opened the foot peddle and turned that little adjustment screw a few turns left and right, found the sweet spot and it works fine now. I don’t know what you are doing with all that, but I’m glad it was that screw assignment thing, lol

    word of warning,if you use the machine slowly the motors overheat as the cooling fan is on the motor shaft,i fitted mine with an external pc fan with a 12v smps psu fitted into the underside of the machine,was this a design cockup?

      Where did you place the PC fan? Is the PC fan mounted outside against the vertical vents? If so, is it pulling the air from the motor's vent or blowing into it?

    Thx for this very helpful video!! 👍
    We have a Singer 6335, and there adjusting the little potentiometer is enough to get a smooth sew speed adjustment.

    Could you please mention where from you ordered/purchased the replacement diac? I am having the same issue on the new pedal for my Bernina and would like to try this fix.

    Hello dear thank you for posting such a informative video. I own a singer 4411 that runs to the maximum speed when ever I touched the pedal and after referring to your video i did everything you did but I couldn't slow it down. I really need your help.

    Have a 4411HD new and it is way too fast for current skill level's. I am doing seatcovers with short tight radii and anyway, the control was adjusted to a higher break down for the diac, (thanks for the video), but if my foot is clumsy by 1/8 inch, I end up with garbage coming out. Was wondering if you have the rating for the diac, is it a 125V ? or what did you order with your successful mod. thnx

      digikey has all the specs on it. see the description. basically its a small device 28-36 volts. once its in circuit that's whats needed.

    I have a singer 4423 and turning that silver thing didn’t work for me, so by replacing what you replaced will that fixed it? Or do I have to look at the other parts to see if something is wrong? I don’t really know this type of stuff

    Hello sir and thank you for your video. I have a Singer Heavy Duty 4432 that comes with an Electronic foot paddle similar to the one you presented. I played with the potentiometer dial to set stitching slower however the speed lever starts abruptly with an already fast speed (even when using the slowest speed dial). As you already presented the problem in the video, the solution is to replace the diac. The diac the paddle comes with is a DB3. Which one did you replace it with in order for the speed to drastically slow down from the factory's slowest speed?

    • @iRepairElectronics
      @iRepairElectronics  Před 9 měsíci

      the diac is the DB3 watch the video a little closer. i explain it all in there.

    There must be a way to physically block that slider, maybe a piece of plastic in the slot with hot glue woud do the job. Simply establishing a much needed speed limit.

    Why do we have to do such a modification just out of the box ? Such a shame for the price

    • @iRepairElectronics
      @iRepairElectronics  Před 2 lety

      well it took about a year for mine to fail. but its simple. Planned Obsolescence

      I bought my wife a 4411 from Amazon and she used that only twice . Today she complained to me about the speed so i took a look. I tried adjusting the speed but it didn’t do any good. Can you tell me what’s default correct position for that please ?
