Welcome to GI 40, a very special issue that we've been hoping to bring you... well, since we first planned the magazine!
Brian May is a unique figure in Rock guitar and he has been interviewed on many occasions in many different publications, so when we were finally able to arrange an interview with him, we decided to take a different route. Instead of sending a mere journalist to interview him and his highly regarded tech expert, Pete Malandrone, we sent Jamie Humphries, who as our features explain has a unique inside approach to the Brian May team. We like to think we've produced the definitive Brian May special as a result.
Also on board is Zakk Wylde, making a welcome return to GI, telling us why he's going into the guitars and amps business!

All I've got to say is "Very Cool"!! I am speechless someone actually did a product demo were they showed what every button, knob switch actually does AND demos them in EVERY position!! Friggin AMAZING, this needs to be the standard blueprint for every product demo/review, and not like 99% of the ones on here where they crank everything up to 11 then pound out power chords and say what an great amp/guitar it is and versatile it is. Only thing that would make this little amp better if it had a presence dial and maybe a reverb. Other then that a " Very Cool " amp.

which Guitar do you use in this video?
Legit question: What is the practical purpose for this? Seems like a Helix, Kemper or Axe FX would do the same thing and have a lot more to offer at the same time.

It is not digital thing like Fractal or Kemper or Line 6.
It is analog amp. Like regular tube amp :)

I appreciate the various responses. I guess a Quilter would be a better comparison than a Pod/Axe. I really like all analog amps. They sit in a sweet spot between the volume a tube amp needs to open up and solid state's sterility.

+Duncan Early It has their own system called MasterTube Design. Single tube for whole amp (pre and power section)
