Does hardliner mean fanatic ?
Just like in the west there are codes for dressing in a lot of companies, these are the codes for the Taliban (if the news is true). Although personally I disagree with forcing people to have beards, the fact that many westerners nag about other peoples' decisions in their own countries makes me sick!

Firstly Afghan people are Muslims and the majority have beards. Secondly why should we abide by extreme western rules and regulations that steal the wealth of the world, thirdly if the western governments deeply concerned about the Afghan people why would they freeze the Afghan money!? They are not punishing Taliban but the people who are definitely food insecure according to INGOs.
Hard-liners sound similar to bigots.
Just like you guys do not want a priest selling drugs or watching pornography, or in other words, you do not want hypocrites as religious preachers. Similarly, Afghans do not want preachers who do not practice what they preach.
