Awesome.
Love this. What's the inspiration behind this one?
The new baritone guitar I’m playing!
Hi Warren, I was wondering if you had noticed anything odd about The Smile doing Skirting on the Surface? It sounds like the guitar is moving in a way that sounds more difficult than it should be. Including that sort of slide down or up to the next chord at the end of a bar, which is not happening in the expected place. Also, compared to the live Radiohead version the vocal seems to start in a different place. I've tried to figure it out but it's in 11/8 to start with so it's a nightmare. I'm probably overthinking it but thought that if anyone could analyse a possible "hidden beat" it would be you.
Best advice I can offer in a CZcams comment is to isolate the left and right channels in a DAW and work out the tempo so you can have everything on a grid. It requires effort but since the invention of the DAW anything meter-related will make more sense on a grid. So it's not your answer but it's in your hands if you wanna dig! If none of that makes sense to you, I teach privately, and that includes meter/ear-training/DAW/transcription and self-teaching.
Thanks, I was really just wondering if you'd spotted something like a Videotape/The Butcher/Little by Little hidden syncopation. I'm guessing not so I'm probably just imagining it 😅
