    I love how unbiased mfjj is every year someone "this is the fastest smoothest quietest bow ever " blah blah blah thank you for the honest review

    Bought this bow last week and absolutely love it. But HHA optimizer lite on it and a torx 12 in on the front and a 8 in torx for a side bar. Shoots like a dream!

    I did just buy one and I did notice the hand shock even with the stabilizers on it. It is a nice shooting little bow for the price though. Pretty happy with it.

    I’ve been shooting one for a few months and it’s been great. I wish I lived close to a shop like yours for advice on everything from quivers to my draw length but at least we have CZcams.

    I'm new to your channel, and plan to get back into archery with the new year. I just have to say I'm diggin this channel. Straight to the point, very informative videos without all the over-explaining. It's been about 15 years since I last bowhunted so the leap in bow technology is a lot to keep up with, but the unbiased views and clear explanations (especially for different situations help a ton.

    Do a test on fps from a bow throughout the draw lengths to see how much speed is gained from draw length.
    And one on draw weights 50-80lbs

    Do you have the equipment to plot the draw force curves of the bows you review? This is something I don’t really see on any other channel, and would be a good addition. Would help to explain what the draw feels like with actual data.

    I'm moving into compound in my older years ..lifetime of traditional. I'm having fun again shooting with son and grandson. That being said ..I've noticed hand shake on the compounds...looking for something in the 50 pound range maybe even 48 or 49...smooth and steady...and also what is a sight recommendation for aging eyes ...arrows to match this set up rtc.

    • @jorrick66
      @jorrick66 Před 2 lety

      @@Ennis09 idk. I have a hard time buying polymer limb pockets. I know people say they’re fine and they’ve been using polymer for years, just makes me feel uneasy. Bear and elite are some of the rare few that use aluminum pockets on price point bows. The new whitetail legend pro comes in under $600 with let off adjustments from 75% to 90%. There are too many good options out there honestly. 😫

    • @jayminer9416
      @jayminer9416 Před rokem +1

      I shot this bow against the Drive NXT, Torrex, & Amplify.
      The Hoyt was back on the shelf first as the cycle was harsh and felt jumpy. Quiet bow though.
      The Amplify went back 2nd but it felt good, shot great, seemed a bit noisy and the grip didnt feel right.
      The Drive NXT & Terrain both felt about even to me with the speed edge going to the Drive. The Terrain felt a bit better in the hand & on the draw. It was real close for me but the Terrain went home with me along with some RL & CBE hardware. I'd still like a Drive to play with more, next new bow is flagship though. Never had one.

  • @alexandersmith5342
    @alexandersmith5342 Před 2 lety +2

    I've recently gotten into archery and love both y'alls and Elk Shapes channels. Got any recommendations for[a bow] or a video on us folks with short draws? I'm 5'6" and my TRex arms got a 24.5" draw length. Keep up the good work!

    • @jackbuendgen389
      @jackbuendgen389 Před 2 lety +1

      I have a 26" draw so I'm in the same boat you are. Don't expect to reach the speeds of 28-29.5" guys. Just accept it. Shoot a fast bow, a heavy draw bow if you do want extra speed. It won't be much but it'll help. Or just focus on all on out accuracy. But for the love of a things good and holy don't buy a bow with a 7" brace height! Take advantage of your short draw and buy cheap arrows, chop the wobbly ends off and weight sort them for match grade performance. Lower your anchor point. It'll help increase your range on your sight. In your draw I say a 60# Mathews prima would be perfect. Just paint over the pink logo. Hope this helps 👍

    • @alexandersmith5342
      @alexandersmith5342 Před 2 lety

      @@jackbuendgen389 Ey man, thanks I really appreciate it! I actually bought a 60# Prima in December and have been loving it. How would I go about lowering my anchor point? And I've been reading up on arrows, seems a lot of favor to high F.O.C. but haven't seen a lot on your suggestion for cutting and weigh sorting cheap arrows. Would you mind elaborating on that?

    • @jackbuendgen389
      @jackbuendgen389 Před 2 lety +1

      @@alexandersmith5342 instead of having the d-loop high on your fave by the corner of your mouth bring it down by finding an anchor point lower on your jaw. If you have an index finger release buying a hand held will do the trick because you anchor along your jaw line, thus lowering your anchor. You can certainly do it with an index release. The hand held was just an example.
      Both Josh Bomar and Gold Tip have videos on building arrows. I'll find them and link them later. Essentially you spin the arrows on an arrow spinner and find the wobbly end/ends and cut that end/ends off. Afterwards you'll have a perfectly straight arrow. As for weight sorting you want to pair heavy components with light shafts and visa versa. Match the inserts with shafts. Then points or broadheads. After that the fletchings. And last the nocks. I can get arrows +/- 1.5 grains. Meaning between all my fletched arrows there's a 3 grain difference between the lightest and heaviest arrows.

      @@alexandersmith5342 being you're going to cut the arrow SO short you'll have SUPER straight shafts and will have STUPID high foc as a bi product of your short draw. Focus on perfect arrow flight. Foc is just a number in my opinion

      @@jackbuendgen389 Wow man, thank you! Thanks for all the info and the links. Before buying a bow, I had no idea how much goes into just arrows and believe me, I've gone down plenty of rabbit holes and ending up with more questions than answers. You're info is a lot more clear than the majority of the rest I've read up on so I'm definitely going to dig into it. I am currently shooting an index but I think I'd like a hand held and have been looking at the Stan Perfex but I'm new to archery so I haven't strayed from my current setup. Thank you again for your time with the all the info, it's super awesome of you!
