I don't know how old, "Hold On" is anymore, but battling anxiety, panic and depression since my teens, I too, latched on to that song instantly. To this day, if my world seems too dark to bear, your song comes *immediately* to mind, and I sing it to myself - knowing, tomorrow, in "one more day", that I will feel completely different - much better. I have sent it to multiple people who were in despair over the years as well. Thank you for that, Chynna. God was surely working through you when you wrote that song. 😇
I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit 10 years ago while being a Hospice caregiver to a loved one. It was very similar to yours and hard to describe in words, but you know without any doubts that it is God. I actually thought I had died, but had never felt so loved, happy, and peaceful. It was actually sad when it ended and I realized I was still on earth. I love your channel Chynna. You are able to touch people in ways that others cannot. It's interesting to see that in many ways you are just like us non-celebrities! Your honesty is what makes your channel work and your caring about unseen people and your true desire to spread the Word of Jesus comes through the TV. We have to rent because we wow your experience at the hospice center sounds absolutely incredible! In answer to your question…we lost everything in 2008 economic crash and had to start over… Completely from scratch. It was super tough but we’re doing much better now!
I just came back and listened to this again Chynna. I needed the strength. My niece passed away today leaving 3 children behind , 2 are in school. We are broken. My sister in law now has lost both her children (both under 40) and a month old great grandchild in just a year. I just needed to hear the strength in your words and the story about Hold On again
Chynna Phillips Baldwin She started with having leg pain then it got worse. Testing was postponed because of COVID then she got really bad and the end of July they took off both legs because of her veins and infection. She never improved and finally was on a ventilator. They removed it last night thank you for your prayers

You are so inspiring. In the 80's I was a teen and 90's i was in my 20's . I am 53 and I believe in god and jesus. I have a personal relationship with god. I taught my children that god is everywhere if you are outside and enjoy it that is gods creation just like they are. God is everywhere not just in a building. This was a great interview with Steven Barr. I love it when you said the Holy Spirit told you to do California Preaching "raw". That's what makes you so special! Nobody is perfect. You don't need to rehearse or use teleprompters. Just be normal and speak what's on your mind.
I wanted to share this because it made such an impact on me-I think it was the first time I remember the Father “speaking” to me. He was working with me-growing me and showing me His Plan and His Purpose for my life. I didn’t really know that at the time, but He teaches us to hear His Voice. As His Plan for me began to unfold and as He taught me what I needed to know in order to carry it out, He confirmed to me so mightily one day. I had just bought a new calendar for the upcoming year and as I opened it, I threw the cardboard insert from it on the floor for my two dogs to play with and tear up. One of the dogs brought me a piece of it after they destroyed it, and I turned it over and there were words on it. I hadn’t noticed the words when I threw it down, but I read them and began to weep. I still have the tattered cardboard piece on my bulletin board. It reads “Just think, you’re here not by chance, but by the Father’s choosing. His Hand formed you and made you the person you are. He compares you to no one else-you are one of a kind. You lack nothing that His grace can’t give you. He has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill His special purpose for this generation.” 😊 😊 He loves us SO much!! What a loving Father-and while He is doing His Work in us, He is giving us opportunity to earn rewards-to earn inheritance in HIS Kingdom! HalleluYah!
OK. So, I kid you not, I go to Walt DIsney World once or twice a year by myself, just ME and Jesus, for my THERAPY!!! The cries of the child to the Father even after 28 years of walking with Him. I am re-living my childhood over again one day at a time. Thank you Chynna for sharing.

After watching this video, I felt I had to say something purposeful. What a splendid interview with the pastor!!! You are doing what you are doing now because I think you strongly believe that's God's calling for you and the Holy Spirit is convicting your heart. With each passing day and video, you are getting stronger and becoming more and more like Jesus. Of course none of us will be perfect like Him. But we can be perfectly genuine and authentic in our walk with Jesus. We have to remind ourselves that with Jesus in us, we shall live with a clean heart and a clean life. From time to time whenever I stumble and fall and succumb to my weaknesses, I immediately have to repent and get things right. All of us have to be reminded every day that living this way doesn't mean that you're perfect, but you can have a "perfect" heart. If you will constantly let the Holy Spirit clean it out and refine it, He can develop a pure and perfect heart within you. Secular songs like "Hold On" sometimes seem more far-reaching than "Contemporary Christian" songs in terms of touching people who literally NEED to hear them! Can you believe that the lyrics you composed LiTERALLY saved a life? And that literally hundreds of thousands of people listen to your song every day and get strength? I think disciples of Christ are able to "infuse" secular media with messages/love from our Savior and reach millions with tidings of love and hope, and "Hold on" is definitely an example of that! That is POWERFUL and a true sign that Christ can act through us! And how God was with you from the day you were born. Write girl...WRITE! One more thing... Who in your family was praying for you? Somewhere in you lineage was a prayer warrior! A man or woman of deep faith! The enemy had big plans for you...but God has much bigger plans! ❤ I say this because for years only my sister and I were born again...out of 8 siblings. My parents, aunts , uncles and cousins had zero interest in Jesus and many died from alcohol and drug abuse. I prayed for years asking God how is it only my sister and I know You? Years later I found out from a distant cousin my great grandmother was a woman of deep faith! She lived and died in our home! I was three when she passed. Hi Chynna, I came upon your channel with the video of you interviewing your mom and I think “hymnal” was in the title. And “hymnal and Chynna and Michelle Phillips” seemed interesting. I had no idea you were a Christian. I loved the video, it was so sweet. “California Dreaming” creates deep emotions in me from my childhood. And “Hold On” was always a favorite and I thought you were breathtakingly beautiful. By the time it came out I had already accepted Christ. But I remember it being so uplifting. I love the letter you read. Wow- that has to be so amazing. I am so glad to be a subscriber to your channel and look forward you catching up and hearing more. Your testimony is so beautiful. I have some similarities to you. I grew up in a home where my parents were best selling authors. But they left me for the summers at a horse ranch so they could promote their books. I lost my innocence too early and I spiraled. Accepted Christ in early 20’s, Moved to LA to pursue acting/my identity, got lost, moved back to my hometown, rededicated my life to Christ. Like you, what do I do? I had wonderful husband and kids but had a heart full. Very long story short and all glory to God for His healing, I started leading worship at our church, writing music and now I’ve done three Christian albums. First of all, I have been a fan of yours since Wilson Phillips. You are even more beautiful today (inside and out, in which you have always been!) I just found your channel, and I subscribed immediately. I watched more videos one after another. Your other video mentions"creepy" Christians - I know exactly what you mean, my sister kind of became one. Being Catholic, my parents wanted us to be good Christans - to be kind and respectful to everyone! But my sister went to another church because of her husband. she turned into a Stepford Wife. My parents had no issues with other religions, if they believe in Jesus being our Lord, the religion isn't as important as to what's in your heart. I got chills when you read the letter from the woman that wanted to end it at 15 - wow!! From the other video I watched, when you said how you wrote Hold On, it brought me to tears - it's so profound. I'm going through some difficult situations, aside from COVID, because every one is affected by that. I listened to Hold On and because now I know how that song came to be - those lyrics are so powerful. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful and meaningful song! Testing was postponed because of COVID then she got really bad and the end of July they took off both legs because of her veins and infection. She never improved and finally was on a ventilator. You are so inspiring. In the 80's I was a teen and 90's i was in my 20's . I am 53 and I believe in god and jesus. I have a personal relationship with god. I taught my children that god is everywhere if you are outside and enjoy it that is gods creation just like they are. God is everywhere not just in a building. You can talk to him anytime day or night for he is always with you and will never abandon you. I love your channel. Please keep going o wd need this at this time with the country in chaos. I wanted to share this because it made such an impact on me-I think it was the first time I remember the Father “speaking” to me. He was working with me-growing me and showing me His Plan and His Purpose for my life. I didn’t really know that at the time, but He teaches us to hear His Voice. As His Plan for me began to unfold and as He taught me what I needed to know in order to carry it out, He confirmed to me so mightily one day. I had just bought a new calendar for the upcoming year and as I opened it, I threw the cardboard insert from it on the floor for my two dogs to play with and tear up. One of the dogs brought me a piece of it after they destroyed it, and I turned it over and there were words on it. I hadn’t noticed the words when I threw it down, but I read them and began to weep. I still have the tattered cardboard piece on my bulletin board. It reads “Just think, you’re here not by chance, but by the Father’s choosing. His Hand formed you and made you the person you are. He compares you to no one else-you are one of a kind. You lack nothing that His grace can’t give you. He has allowed you to be here at this time in history to fulfill His special purpose for this generation.” 😊 😊
He loves us SO much!! What a loving Father-and while He is doing His Work in us, He is giving us opportunity to earn rewards-to earn inheritance in HIS Kingdom! HalleluYah!

After watching this video, I felt I had to say something purposeful. What a splendid interview with the pastor!!! You are doing what you are doing now because I think you strongly believe that's God's calling for you and the Holy Spirit is convicting your heart. With each passing day and video, you are getting stronger and becoming more and more like Jesus. Of course none of us will be perfect like Him. But we can be perfectly genuine and authentic in our walk with Jesus. We have to remind ourselves that with Jesus in us, we shall live with a clean heart and a clean life. From time to time whenever I stumble and fall and succumb to my weaknesses, I immediately have to repent and get things right. All of us have to be reminded every day that living this way doesn't mean that you're perfect, but you can have a "perfect" heart. If you will constantly let the Holy Spirit clean it out and refine it, He can develop a pure and perfect heart within you. I have a strong feeling that your song "Hold On" has become the de facto personal anthem for many of your commenters and followers. Can't wait for your next video!!! ¡Jesús te ama y yo también!

omfg gilliam-chy, this was an amazing interview. You are such an astonishingly good story-teller. The letter you read from the young person made me cry. Secular songs like "Hold On" sometimes seem more far-reaching than "Contemporary Christian" songs in terms of touching people who literally NEED to hear them! Can you believe that the lyrics you composed LiTERALLY saved a life? And that literally hundreds of thousands of people listen to your song every day and get strength? I think disciples of Christ are able to "infuse" secular media with messages/love from our Savior and reach millions with tidings of love and hope, and "Hold on" is definitely an example of that! That is POWERFUL and a true sign that Christ can act through us! And geez can't believe you lived with Warren AND Jack, yet you're a normal (yet glamorous with those new bangs!) person we can all relate to! I say this because for years only my sister and I were born again...out of 8 siblings.
My parents, aunts , uncles and cousins had zero interest in Jesus and many died from alcohol and drug abuse.
I prayed for years asking God how is it only my sister and I know You?
Years later I found out from a distant cousin my great grandmother was a woman of deep faith!
She lived and died in our home! I was three when she passed.
But I knew in the deepest depths of my heart and soul it was my great grandmother Alice who prayed for her grandbabies!!
Someone like that must be in your life...

Hi Chynna, I came upon your channel with the video of you interviewing your mom and I think “hymnal” was in the title. And “hymnal and Chynna and Michelle Phillips” seemed interesting. I had no idea you were a Christian. I loved the video, it was so sweet. “California Dreaming” creates deep emotions in me from my childhood. And “Hold On” was always a favorite and I thought you were breathtakingly beautiful. By the time it came out I had already accepted Christ. But I remember it being so uplifting. I love the letter you read. Wow- that has to be so amazing. I am so glad to be a subscriber to your channel and look forward you catching up and hearing more. Your testimony is so beautiful. I have some similarities to you. I grew up in a home where my parents were best selling authors. But they left me for the summers at a horse ranch so they could promote their books. I lost my innocence too early and I spiraled. Accepted Christ in early 20’s, Moved to LA to pursue acting/my identity, got lost, moved back to my hometown, rededicated my life to Christ. Like you, what do I do? I had wonderful husband and kids but had a heart full. Very long story short and all glory to God for His healing, I started leading worship at our church, writing music and now I’ve done three Christian albums. I’m sharing my “testimony song” with you “Then I Met Jesus.”

First of all, I have been a fan of yours since Wilson Phillips. You are even more beautiful today (inside and out, in which you have always been!) I just found your channel, and I subscribed immediately. I watched more videos one after another. Your other video mentions"creepy" Christians - I know exactly what you mean, my sister kind of became one. Being Catholic, my parents wanted us to be good Christans - to be kind and respectful to everyone! But my sister went to another church because of her husband. she turned into a Stepford Wife. My parents had no issues with other religions, if they believe in Jesus being our Lord, the religion isn't as important as to what's in your heart. I got chills when you read the letter from the woman that wanted to end it at 15 - wow!! From the other video I watched, when you said how you wrote Hold On, it brought me to tears - it's so profound. I'm going through some difficult situations, aside from COVID, because every one is affected by that. I listened to Hold On and because now I know how that song came to be - those lyrics are so powerful. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful and meaningful song!
