Northern Belle Settle and Carlisle Special (York to Appleby)

This weekend saw the running of the Northern Belle Settle and Carlisle Special (York to Appleby).
Rover ticket in hand, I was primed ready at Cononley to see the empty coaching stock being moved to York on Friday, 31st March. West Coast Railways' locomotives 57313 "Scarborough Castle" and 47826 would take it in turns to top and tail the train throughout the tour.
On Saturday, 1st April I had a busy day following the train on its outbound journey from York to Appleby (train 1Z77) and return journey from Appleby to York (train 1Z78). I managed to film 1Z77 at Lancaster and Oxenholme; picking off 1Z78 at Ribblehead and Wakefield Kirkgate.
On Sunday, 2nd April I headed to Carnforth to see the empty coaching stock being returned home.

Super 4K filming Tom, you and the train done a few miles over three days, i was in Leeds but missed the the move to York, bdidn't come through the station at leeds, wasnt there to film anyway did pass one on the way back home, there was two moves out on Friday and two back on Sunday, i have a VX1 camera not liking it very much, to dark or washed out and others things like bleaching out on the sound, sorry but they have cheapened there product to a price not quality .

I had all sorts of issues with the sound at the start, when I just used the automatic settings. A bit of fiddling and I think it's better now, but the audio is a bit quieter than it should be. I've got two VX1s - quite happy, but the Panasonic cameras are really all I've known. I plan on following the Hereford-Appleby circular tour tomorrow, so might see you about. Probably Hellifield/Long Preston for the outbound, then across Lancaster for the return.
