As a Sporting fan I absolutely hate Benfica but there are some things I need to remind you of: 1- The Emirates was built 3 years after benfica’s stadium so that’s the lookalike and not the other way round. 2- Did any of you watch Inter against Porto? They were abysmal. Went through on a goal vs 10 men and did basically nothing for the rest of the tie. And, 3- They played the worst Porto squad in years (also hate them, even more than I hate Benfica). Inter were unbelievably lucky and I’d give benfica about 95% chances of going through to the semis.
As a Sport Lisboa Benfica fan I absolutely agree with you DjNellyz ....in every of the 3 points you mentioned......Inter is awful....playing for a draw in Champions League.....very sad....Vamos Benfica 🦅

Bro I am an inter fan and I respect a lot the top 3 Portuguese teams but I saw the game vs Porto both legs. I don’t know which game you guy saw in Portugal but in Milan you played awful you played dirty all the game in the end one of your player has been sent off, you pressured the referee all the game. In Oporto we didn’t do so much but we awaited Porto to play counterattack, we suffered just 5 minutes in the end. In other words I didn’t see this wonderful football of Porto. As Barcelona fans Porto fans has to learn to lose and be realistic. About the quarter-final it’s 50 50. Boa tarde
I really like the discussion on how much EPL just outspends serie A, and yet have fewer teams in the UCL final 8. I think there should be a bigger discussion on this. The Premier league is the Superleague. Milan has a transfer budget lower than that of relegation battling Bournemoth or Leeds. This is out of control. I think all top clubs teams in Europe should have somewhat equivalent budgets.
What do you think should be done here? I'd love to have your opinion.
it’s not the fault of the premier league that other leagues refuse to invest in the smaller clubs, you cannot compare the premier league with leagues like Serie A and bundesliga as they only funnel money to the top clubs
Well when you say something like that you have to talk ab matchups. F.e. Liverpool had to face Real and got knocked out while Inter only faced Porto. Makes no sense to then say „PL clubs spend more but they get knocked out“ when Inter just had a much easier opponent. But yeah spendings are crazy in football
In the Bundesliga, we have the 50 + 1 rule, which prevents investors from owning more than 49 percent of a club. That would be the best way to enforce financial fair play for all leagues.

It has nothing to do with history, its how good a team has been, and Benfica seems to me it has been better this season compared to Inter.

Well. Looks like the semis are going to be between a German, Spanish, Portugese and Italian team. That's gonna be fun, honestly. Personally I'd love to see Bayern vs Benfica in the finals the most, but who knows - Bayern has one hell of a rough road this year. If they pull through, nobody could claim they had the luck of the draw again, and yet I honestly can see them winning it all, with just how dominant they've been in the CL so far.

Bayern supporter are pretty chill about this, we want to play the big teams rather than the "small" teams.

Dad you are wrong on AC Milan, they were brilliant offensively too. They were the only Italian side to play tsiki taka-the possessive football. Pirlo, Gerlandinho, Ambrossini, Seedorf, Kaka, Crespo, Inzaghi. Seedorf, Kaka, Pirlo and Ambrossini were a beauty to watch. Of course Gatuso, Kafu, Deeda, Stam, Maldini and Nesta were defensive geniuses but they really possessed the ball with quality intricate passes and control. And how can I forget the sniper Shevchenko !

I'd love to see Milan Derby in the Semis but I don't think Napoli will let that happen, so Napoli will play the finals this year, they might even win it if they catch their opposition off guard in the finals. City is not getting past Bayern. If the return leg was played in Etihad, It would have been a different story but if City don't take at least 2-3 goals lead in home, they are not getting past Bayern. Madrid vs Chelsea is a tough one. It would have been an easy game for Madrid if the second leg was in Bernabeu. That game in Stamford Bridge will be the biggest game for Madrid this season. They'll either destroy or get destroyed, very hard to predict the overall score.

@Gf No. Inter are good. We beat Barcelona on two legs. Inter are good, and I get so annoyed when people underestimate us. In 2018, when we were much worse than we are now, we beat tottenham in one match and they reached the final. In 2021, we beat Liverpool when they were amazing in one leg, in fact the first match that Van Dijk lost at anfield, and they reached the final and deserved to win it. We are much more experienced than Benfica, and although Benfica have arguably a more promising and talented team we have better fans and are older so will be less nervous

As an Inter fan I'd like to share my thoughts about Inter-Benfica.
Benfica are still the favoutites, but saying that they will surely knock us out is disrispectful to us.
1) Inter have Inzaghi, the GOAT cup manager (at least in italy).
2) Porto was a tough match because inter suffers a lot against defensive teams like porto.
We have no one that can dribble tha defender, NO ONE.
Against attacking teams like Milan (before the change from 4-2-3-1 to 3-5-2), Napoli and Barcellona we performed well.
Against teams like Bayern and Porto (rock solid defense and high pace) we always struggle.
Benfica is maybe the underdog of this ucl (after Napoli, that can now be considered an ucl contender), they are a really good team.

Player for player, I’ll take Bayern and their bench. Of course Haaland and DeBruyne are great, but a combined 11, I’m going with the other 9 from Bayern. Bayern’s bench is spectacular. Most subs would easily start at the top clubs.
