A 22 minute highlight video eh, and with comments about officiating, this will get interesting...
1:41 indirect free kick for dangerous play. I think he called it on the green player basically almost trapping the ball between his legs while he was on the ground.
2:17 there is no push here. Not anything that would be out of the ordinary in a playoff boys soccer match, despite the fan saying otherwise...
3:38 white player contacts the green player after the ball, ergo a foul. Yellow here was most likely due to the location the foul was committed at. And no, unless it was denying a obvious goal scoring opportunity, there is no red here. Seriously, stop yelling for cards from the stands. No one cares.
5:04 firstly, no handball on the buildup. Secondly, when you essentially stick your leg out backwards and trip the opponent, that's usually gonna be called a foul.
5:29 I can't really say that there should be a foul here. Not due to the contact, but more due to the fact the player looks like he lost his footing.
5:34 and here the leg is contacted alongside the ball, so foul.
6:36 tripping the opponent by having both your legs stuck out straight is usually a foul.
6:49 swinging your leg past the ball into the opponent is also a foul.
7:21 something happens behind the play that involves a white player getting a yellow.
7:47 I also have a hard time seeing how this would be a foul.
7:54 the referee probably saw all ball on this challenge, and signaled as such.
8:01 and the mess starts. Yellow to green for the retaliation grabbing. Also, yellow to the coach for dissent. If you are called onto the pitch for your injured player, probably not the best time to be arguing with the officials.
8:33 the issue is, yes this can be called a handball, but the angle on the offense is towards the goal, probably screening both the referee, who would be screened by the players own body, and the AR, who was probably screened by other players. Except it was seen, as evidenced by the call about 5 seconds later, so good call.
9:37 when you pick up the ball as the winning team and then drop it in a clear attempt to bleed the clock, that's a yellow everyday for, in NFHS terms, unnecessary delay.
9:50 foul on white for the push. Yellow card to green for the retaliation shoulder.
10:05 Leading with an elbow while also leaning forward and hitting the player with said elbow is grounds for a straight red for serious foul play.
11:55 arguing with the referee over a goal/corner kick call will usually get you a yellow for dissent. And it is unnecessary. Seriously, you get your yellow arguing that instead of something more serious like a PK call?
12:08 from this angle I can't tell who is causing a foul here, so no foul is the correct call. If I'm giving a PK, I need to be 100% convinced there was a foul, and I can't see one here...
12:29 green charges the keeper illegally and is called for the foul.
13:08 foul on white for the initial pulling, as well as a yellow for reckless play.
13:45 unfortunately for green, his lower leg came through and contacted the white player on the ankle, which can cause serious injury. This is certainly defendable as a yellow or even a red, as the studs were exposed as he went into the challenge. In the aftermath, the referee converses with his AR, probably because the coach is livid there was a card on the so-called "clean" sliding challenge. Also in the aftermath, the yellow was changed to red, most likely on the advice of another official, which again, is defendable. If there wasn't contact with the trailing leg, then it would've been clean, but contact, even with the folded leg, can cause major injury to the ankle.
17:08 and after all that, a coaching member of white gets a yellow, most likely for dissent.
17:32 yellow card for white for unnecessary delay. Don't touch the ball when it's not your restart, it's really that simple.
All in all, yes there were a lot of cards, but they were all at least justifiable, if not deserved.

I agree with all except the 3:38 call, the white player played the ball then just didn't move after and the green player ran straight into him, no foul in my opinion, you can't run into someone full speed, fall over then except a free kick. Actually I would also disagree with the 8:01 call, the white player grabbed the green player, if I was green I wouldn't think about the game, my natural reaction would be to throw the white player to the ground. At the very least it should have been a yellow to both players.

Good summary and I concur with some of the ones where it wasn't a foul...then again we get the ability to see a different angle with the recording. I liked how he conferred with the AR to get the correct call for red. Surprised he held a card in his pocket for the amount of dissent it LOOKED like was hurled at him by the home coach (and home fans which can get a coach booked as well).
I thought it was a great game with that Joe kid on white with the hattrick from some absolute amazing goals. Too bad white can't handle the counter when they get up on a team.
Do any cards accumulate or carry forward in the playoffs like other tournaments in Ohio?

@@CaptainDawg02 I have a feeling that once he pulled a yellow for dissent it was gonna go downhill given the raw emotion of a playoff match. Not an excuse not to give it, but certainly a factor in considering it.

@@Raider025 - he was willing to give it to the away coaches... It's not easy to do the right thing, but the way that coach was animated in talking with him WHILE the crowd had been screaming for a red card for any little touch to their Johnny, it was way overdue.
