"Everything you do has to be a positive influence on your shot." I love that premise!!! THAT is a priceless premise to presuppose!! Thanks RC!!👍🙏

Circling back to importance of consistent form episode after episode after episode is great strategy for this series . . . because it's so vital!

In the book "The Long Fix", he talks about blank bale practice. When my shooting goes to heck, if it does, I will revert back to blank bale practice, doing pretty much just like you are explaining. It really helps to straighten me out, and really helps me on my instinctive shooting. And the grip, or shall I say, not torquing the grip, is very important. Pulling with the hand pretty much open, then closing your fingers, like you said, seems to work the best for me.

Target panic is just the natural way the brain works and evolves to become more efficient and brace for impact. There isnt a "cure" so to speak. Gaining control of your shot is just a mental skill you have to develop.
Get Joel Turner's course or his book. It will change your shooting life.
And you can still shoot fast and not hold the bow back....the difference is you have complete control.
Love your recent content Robert. Learning alot from you!

Started using this tip at the beginning of each practice session. I do it three times then start shooting. It has made a noticeable improvement in my groups. Especially the first shot. Thanks for the great tip. Something good to practice while in the stand to stay loose and ready I think. Sorry you've been sick glad you are on the mend!

We call it instinctive shooting a horsebow Slavic Release. Really it is aiming. You have a finger on your bow holding hand pointing down range. Another finger on your string hand pointing downrange. The human brain just has to line them up like rifle sights.
