- Wolfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Apogee Software and FormGen. Originally released on May 5, 1992 for MS-DOS, it was inspired by the 1981 Muse Software video game Castle Wolfenstein, and is the third installment in the Wolfenstein series. In Wolfenstein 3D, the player assumes the role of Allied spy William "B.J." You confused the sequence of otto and gretch. Gretch is from 5th episode, Otto is from 4th episode.

Yeap, Doomsguy's name is Stan Blazkowizch, and apparently he's Polish :D
However it is not canon for all incarnations of the Doomguy: the guy from Doom3 and Doom64 is surely Stan, while the rest of the doomguys from the old games supposed to be [you] and the different marine then the guy from this two games. Not sure about Bethesda's games but personally I'll believe that Doomslayer is him. It's something hillarious in the fact that the guy's name is Stan.

One proof of this is that in the wolfenstein rpg in the final boss you cut down the arm and leg of a demon and he promises he will be back and will haunt your descendents that demon later got techno shit and the became the cyberdemon
It's amazing that even after all these years I still feel a sense of fright when these bosses appear.and it's even more creepy when you're looking for ammo and you can't see them but you can sure hear them.

Opening a door, and just mowing down a room full of Nazis on the other side with the chain-gun before they can even react is one of the most satisfying things in the history of video games.
The only game that made me check every nook and corner of the game. Absolutely had a blast in childhood. Never finished the game, as I would get lost in level 5. Maybe will try to play it again

Thats because in the highest difficult of the game (death incarnate) even wasting the full magazine of the machine gun isnt enough to kill the boss. You need to go back and recharge.

They deliberately made Hitler’s death the most gruesome of all. The rest of him just disintegrated and his head was just floating on a pool of blood. The other bosses just died of normal gunshot wounds.

@@arealhumanbean3058 He's a prisoner in the first episode,mso that's why he wears that grey getup instead of an actual American uniform. It'a weird he retains the getup throughout the rest of the game, but iD was probably fine with the way he looked.

I think if they were remake all these levels into Doom maps, using only Doom elements, all of the bosses except for Gretel Grosse will be replaced with a Cyberdemon and due to the fact that Gretel Grosse is a lady rather than a man, she will be replaced with a Spider Mastermind or in other words the Spiderdemon. All of the humans in the level will then be the blue coated guys along with that big guy which heaves out fireballs with open wings, possibly replaced with Imps or Cacodemons or perhaps Mancubuses.
