Heimberg had to fly to a different city and then got a ride from a random fan like 310 kilometers in the middle of the night between Thursday - Friday. Takes about 3-4 hours.
And the last round was the worst conditions, right?

I won't be surprised if Paul wins, but if he doesn't, this is 1000% the tournament we will be looking back on. Only 3 of the top 10 in the field and they all had bad tournaments. That's not likely to happen again. Nobody was beating Simon at Music city, he was out of his mind. 2nd might as well have been 50th as far as the win is concerned.
The fact that James beat another elite series winner from the same season validates his win automagically 🎩

I got the sense from Väinö's interview that the 6 months ago mentioned was the first time he spoke to prodigy about exploring new options. And from there they slowly did exactly that and arrived on a deal in may if i recall. Also the "fancy pasta" is kind of a joke / saying that you don't have to look for the cheapest brand in the store and kind of a deflection to actually talking about money. (Not sure if that was lost in translation) Though he did mention something about never looking to make a worse deal than prior and seemed genuinely happy about the situation.
I assume Väinö didn't get much of a pay pump when he renewed the contract (even with covid boom going on, as it was already showing signs of slowing down at the time)
Changing jobs usually leads to a pay pump and I assume this is also the case (he would accept a subpar deal if it's the only one he gets and then he wants to stay in the prodigy family and might even know they can't pay him much more)
Openly suggesting that Vaino was lying without any info to back that up was interesting from Brodie.
As a European, the presidents cup system for sure needs to be reworked, we want the best possible players from both sides out there (that way WHEN we finally win at some point, there won't be any speculation that the US was missing their best players because of Jussi 😂)
thats why you have majors. Thats when you have the full stacked fields. I actually prefer to have a more diverse and expansive tour that brings in more people from all over the world and then have the big majors with all the best ones collected at the best courses for the most rounds. Thats how you grow the sport and give the majors the weight they deserve.
About the FPO discussion, Uli is just saying other players getting wins has increased their confidence, meaning the quantity and probabilities of players other than Kristin winning have shifted a bit.

I hope Vaino is clearing 100k a year. Not only does he deserve it but it's expensive to be on the other side of the traveling equation. US players only have to visit europe once a year while Europeans are often flying back and forth 2, 3 even 4 times, and having to spend their money in a more expensive country.
Europe and especially the Nordic countries are pretty expensive for the basics (gas, food, drink, lodging). A lot of the states the dgpt have events at are a lot cheaper by comparison. But if they're flying back and forth that def adds up. Ideally the sponsor should cover travel expenses for their top tier guys.
44:16 dude, that's exactly why DGPT expanding to Europe can do. Europe needs a good tour that's viable to play on it's own, and this has not been the case.

What we need to do - if the tournament is Pro Tour Elite - You cant do anything, if players from TOP50 are not all there. But there were Calvin, Ricky, Niklas and Paul and European top is much closer to US, then ratings show. And dont compare it with European Open - it is a Major...

Have anyone even considered that the European players don’t want to squeese their entire season into just a couple weeks to accomodate to the american players? That maybe they don’t want or not is able to go to USA to tour because of VISA issues and it’s too expensive. But they still want to compete against the best in the European field outside their own country. And if the protour adjust to just a couple weeks the European countries is going to say ”we don’t like this, let’s have our own tour” (which is what they did before this year and last) Not everything evolves around american players. There is an entire world of discgolfers outside USA that seems to be forgotten. It feels like a bit selfcentered thinking to not even consider that fact. Yes, its more money in USA but it is also very expensive to travel there for an entire season.

Honestly, if you want to get better at angles AND touch, play catch 2 or 3 times a week for 15 minutes. It starts out like Chase, but you'll get the hang of it.

About the FPO discussion Uli was way off base. 1st the implication that Silva, Holyn, Ella, Missy or Paige wins are due to Kristin not playing is insulting. They have all proven to be perfectly capable of beating any FPO player when they are playing well. The other part I also disagree with that somehow it will be more difficult for Kristin because they got a taste for winning. These players all have been a threat to win for a long time and the fact that Ella, Holyn, and Silva are first time winners during the time Kristin stepped out does not make them more threatening in the future.
The inverse of what you've said is more likely correct.
I still don’t understand why they even brought rangefinders into the game of disc golf. It breaks the spirit of the game.
