5:27 So random to finally know the English name for this plant after trying to know for so long.
In my language, Krio of the Creole people in Sierra Leone, we call this plant "tie u lapa u man day kam" (I don't have the krio keyboard 😫)
It basically means "tie/cover yourself up with your wrapper or shawl, your man is coming"
I don't know why those specific for this plants but it's one of my favs. Makes me happy to see them react upon contact.

i actually didn’t have the best experience with these braids (i had to redo a lot of them myself 🥲) so i won’t be sharing the stylist. hope that’s okay 🫂🩷
