Honestly, to me, it looked like Luigi did make it, but I guess he was on the border between the lava and the goal. I'm guessing others managed to make it with him.

I could see where some might want them different on some competitions like pit and dark pit side arm after effects, ryu and kens save move motions, Marth and Lucinas reach or to certain extent Samus and Dark Samus charge shot and floatiness

I believe that Sephiroth can make it if you use side attack to stab the lava, then he would've got his chance to make it.
I was thinking that too. He stabbed it as Corrin but didn't as Sephiroth
Potentially byleth as well. Little known fact is that their up special sticks to diagonal surfaces, not sure if it sticks in lava specifically though

Why doesn't anyone use mario's cape for some extra lateral movement in these challenges? Is the end lag too much now, or does it not travel as far?
In this chalenge it doenst work because it gets you too far down and the lava gets you but he could have used flood after jump 2 and then cape and i think he makes it
