- An introduction to the Orthodox Way of Life. The video discusses the spiritual struggle we face and the role of our passions. How we must cooperate with divine Grace to overcome our passions that lead us to sinful actions. Provides the basis for understanding the basis of the ascetic practices prescribed by the Orthodox Church for our purification and journey to Theosis.
Thank you so much for this Presentation , it has been broken down & such a great way for anyone to understand.
This is an amazing lesson. I've sent it to a number of people of various belief systems, that I think could benefit from its perspectives... Now, to memorize it myself... 💭 🤔
Thank you, Father. I got great benefit from this.
Such a great presentation. Even protestants (such as myself) should watch this to gain a better understanding of self and the advice for the pursuit of practical holiness/consecration in this modern evil world.
Thank you very much Fr. for your presentations - they have been very helpful as a catechumen and now as newly baptized. I hope more people discover them. Also, I very much relate to Homer’s brain!
The doorbell at 25:49 had me thinking I was losing my mind for a few minutes. I paused the lesson to check my door, came back and replayed the last couple of minutes again only to pause at the doorbell again to check my door AGAIN before it occurred to me that maybe it was the recording and not actually my door 🤦♀.
I hope you at least got a chuckle out of this story Fr. Charles!
Bless Father, I am in Catachumin classes. This talk is very helpful. Thank you for blessing a new comer. שלום
So well explained !
Thank you
Thank you Father!

Thank you 🙏 great lecture

According to Genesis Eve was created from a rib of Adam
I am very new to Orthodoxy and I am trying to understand. Did you just refer to Eve as a body part of Adam or did misunderstand you?
Eve was created after God pulled a rib from Adam’s body after He put him in a deep sleep. He created her from the rib, so that man would not be alone and have someone else like him and to help him
Asceticism: because Christ must not have done enough for you to pay for your sins and give you his righteousness, you must essentially torture yourself to prove how good you are.
You miss the point of asceticism totally.
@dave1370.... your statement seems to come out from a person which is not poor in spirit
If yiu love him you keep him commandments, simple
You orthodox now😮😮😮😮
