    This is an amazing lesson. I've sent it to a number of people of various belief systems, that I think could benefit from its perspectives... Now, to memorize it myself... 💭 🤔

    Such a great presentation. Even protestants (such as myself) should watch this to gain a better understanding of self and the advice for the pursuit of practical holiness/consecration in this modern evil world.

    Thank you very much Fr. for your presentations - they have been very helpful as a catechumen and now as newly baptized. I hope more people discover them. Also, I very much relate to Homer’s brain!

    The doorbell at 25:49 had me thinking I was losing my mind for a few minutes. I paused the lesson to check my door, came back and replayed the last couple of minutes again only to pause at the doorbell again to check my door AGAIN before it occurred to me that maybe it was the recording and not actually my door 🤦‍♀.
    I hope you at least got a chuckle out of this story Fr. Charles!

    According to Genesis Eve was created from a rib of Adam

    I am very new to Orthodoxy and I am trying to understand. Did you just refer to Eve as a body part of Adam or did misunderstand you?

    • @JanieBee
      @JanieBee Před 7 hodinami +1

      Eve was created after God pulled a rib from Adam’s body after He put him in a deep sleep. He created her from the rib, so that man would not be alone and have someone else like him and to help him

    Asceticism: because Christ must not have done enough for you to pay for your sins and give you his righteousness, you must essentially torture yourself to prove how good you are.
