My grandpa worked on the train for well over 20 years up until the early 90’s. He was a barman and had met many famous people during those days. So many stories he told us as we grew up. So many of our childhood memories comes from this train. 😢😢😢
I see your comment and remember so well my granddad was a chef on the bluetrain also in the 60's. He also worked at hotels etc his food was delicious
I once met a retired jewel dealer who ran a very lucrative business for years in that train. world class content as always LivingSAtv🤯

My father worked for the South African Railways in the 60's. We travelled regularly to Cape Town and other cities on the Orange Express. My dad's wish that one day he will take my brother and I on the Blue Train. Sadly my dad passed away.
In 2021 I made my dad's dream come true. I organised for the 2 of us to do the Cape Town to Pretoria on the legendary Blue Train. The entire experience had been incredible. It was a dream realised.
Most ppl are unaware of this: the train has air suspension & the carriages are joined in a manner that the entire train moves as a single unit - not like other trains where coaches are linked together and pick up or lose slack as the train starts or stops moving. The train is fully airconditioned, from beginning to end.

This train is world class.Well worth a trip to Pretoria or Cape Town.This train is SA number 1,streaks ahead of Rovos Rail.Keep going for many years....
1981 - went on my honeymoon on this beautiful train. She still looks just as great. Please don't spoil the train or the adventure. The journey is truly a once in a life time experience.

This is an amazing train I can't compare because it's my first time I see the interior of Blue Train now I can't wait for Ravos so that I can't make my judgement on which one is more beautiful.
The Rovos was already uploaded before this one. 🚉
Rovos is top tier
As far as I know this is version two of the Blue train. The original was an most all wooden coaches

Nice train but too luxurious for me maybe when married or something one day lol. Sorry for not watching the rovos I already know it from the documentries, but the blue train is a bomb.

Lovely train, only thing I could see from this fleeting visit is cutlery on tables too close to edge of table.

What did u expect ? It is THE BLUE TRAIN , nothing but 5 stars . U should have researched the history of it. Poor sound and acting shocked all the time makes for irritating viewing.

The majority of users of the Blue train are international tuorists, when I did the trip there were definately more non whites using the Blue train. I would hasten to add that all citizens of South Africa are Africans!
