I was wondering why Those grand exhibitions never take place in India. The answer was we didn't have the capability to host'em. We didn't have those grand Convention centres with large capacity. Hence we missed out on events like Science exhibitions and expos and whatnot.
But we are catching up. Kudos to the Government for thinking on every level.

IICC is being build in multiple phases. It will have hotels, office space and shopping centres, etc. as well. You can say it is somewhat similar to the Cyber City, Gurugram. So, cost of complete project is 24k cr. but it will be spread throughout the phases. It will generate many jobs and in long run it will give multiple fold returns comparing to what is being currently invested.
