    In the land of exclusivity, Bentley rules its own kingdom. Forever warring with Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Maybach, Bentley's specialized tactics include chiseled designs, unblemished leather, and remarkable dynamics. With the Mulsanne now past its prime fighting years, the Flying Spur leads the charge with a selection of weapons: a V8, W12, and V6 Hybrid.
    In this in-depth review, we sample both the rumbling V8 and the velvety W12 to see which powertrain suits the Flying Spur best in its battle with the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

    I can’t imagine passing up a W12 for a V8. The W12 is already the sportier ultra luxury alternative to the Ghost. Why compromise the prestige and the ultra luxury smoothness of a W12 for a noisy V8 in an ultra luxury four door sedan? I imagine if you can afford this car, you can get a V8 sports car.

    • @LerRhann
      @LerRhann Před 2 lety +2

      Everyone's opinion is different my friend.
      Gas mileage may be an issue, not that they can't afford the gas but because they simply want to burn less.
      Some simply like the fact that, even though you lose four cylinders and 2 liters of displacement, you only drop about 4 tenths of a second from zero to sixty. I know I prefer smaller, more efficient engines myself.
      I do fully understand and respect your idea though, just throwing in my two cents.

    Fantastic review! Just what I was looking for!
    Would be great if you could do a comparison between the new S63 AMG they just came out with and the V8 (or the W12 and get a 911 in the future as a second car) Flying Spur, I have narrowed down my choices to those two and having a very hard time deciding.
    On one hand the Bentley is a noticeable step up or three in terms of quality materials and design, and it's always nice to walk towards your car and see something special you don't see too often.
    On the other hand, the Benz is a Benz, unbeatable reliability and tech plus the value retention is unmatched when you do want to trade in 4-5 years from now.
    This might be our last chance to sample this type of elite engineering, as a petrol head who also wants luxury and a comfortable ride for the family it's very difficult making a choice between these two gorgeous machines, especially considering the entry price. Would love to hear your thoughts as I have to make my decision within a month.

    At the end of the day , it depends what you grew up driving , a fwd vw golf or a rwd ac cobra replica with a v8 . Learning with the nose heavy cobra , you learn how to drive a rwd , with the golf , its how to hang on as the chassis flexes and the wheels go in different directions , if you grew up driving rwd , you will instantly go for the W12 .
