    I learned those knots in art class making macrame items. Jute was cheap and strong but it helped when i went fishing to attach lures and hooks.

    Great tutorial, I made a similar one for my grand nephew. I think knot Tyler’s would call your initial knot a ‘crown knot’.

    Yes! I taught that stitch to my young campers at Robin Hood. They made bracelets and keychains with lanyard.
