One reason I like your CZcams channel is that you, and your sister, give race day updates faster than NHRA does. NHRA takes forever to put together any kind of race day reports.

Actually I I lived in Lake Havasu in '94 in June it set a state record at 128° official.

I 100% agree, what a cool, down to earth, and nice guy. This channel needs a million. i just sub'd myself after stumbling upon the channel. Clay's personality and his attitude, humility, and class are much needed in racing these days.
I was of the opinion that there should be a return to the quarter mile UNTIL I saw your last 2 videos on the subject. I learned that I didn’t have a clue and that there are many factors that I had not considered. Not that my opinion means a damn thing, but the point is that your videos are informative and changing the minds of fans like me. Thanks for all you do and congratulations on the 100k subscribers!

Hey clay congratulations on the 100K subscribers been here before 5,000 LOL. I was at Gainesville when Kenny broke 300 mph during qualifying I will forget it. Also it's not about the speed it's trying to slow down the dragster some of these tracks don't have enough room to slow the car down it's safer to stay at the 1000.
100K ! Channel has the quality and feel of a channel with 4 million so watch it take off exponentially from here . My favorite channel hand down . Thanks Clay and family .
Congrats on 100K subs, Clay! I'm happy to be among the crowd. And thanks for having Alan Reinhart on to weigh in on the 1000' vs 1320' issue. Alan nailed it accurately and rationally IMO and the safety issue is huge. We've got exciting drag racing at 1000' with no good reason for changing back for the fuel cars.

Here's my opinion on the whole "1/4 mile" fiasco:
He's right, but to further his point, safety hasn't caught up to the point their ET's have progressed. They're still using some safety rules that were designed for 250-300mph and created in the 90s.
Fact is, before we make these boys and girls go faster, it's critical we ensure their safety at them kinda speeds.
Safety is paramount especially the speed of the those cars go. 👍😱😱

When I used to BMX race a few years ago, I finally stopped racing in competition at 38, my son and I raced in Tucson AZ in August, and thankfully the event was indoor, but just going from the venue to the staging area was absolutely brutal with gear on, 117 deg helmet, pants, jersey pads etc not to mention being dressed like you guys are on ASPHALT! Waiting in line to race… sheesh!!! At least we got 15 min or so of mild AC before we raced you guys are out here showing out for the crowd dressed like you’re going to the North Pole!! Thank you clay and all the teams for going out and bearing the elements to give us all an amazing show, my respect to all the people out there just for us fans to enjoy it!

I convinced a well done guy to eat a medium rare steak.. he’s never went back… i guess the bright side of eating well done, you can always grab some beef jerky and relive the experience

Congrats on 100K! I agree with Alan R. on the quarter mile debate. I used to be mad about it along with the other people but I also see that the shutdown areas are just not long enough anymore and to me that is a huge deal. If you ever stand at the finish line when they go by, it's scary fast. As you obviously know. I have tried to think of ways to bring the cost down in the fuel classes for years but the only thing I could come up with is to go back to off the shelf parts like blowers and heads. The price you guys pay for blowers and heads and billet blocks just blows my mind but I hate to see short qualifying fields of less than 16 cars. I think at the end of the day it comes down to money. Good luck today!

I was at that race today and I met Clay Millican awesome guy always has a smile on his face and I brought one of the shirts today on that shirt. I am proud that the proceeds go to animal rescue I should tan my appreciate the fact that it’s going for a good cause

I loved the vid asking the question 1/4 mile to 100 ft. and Alans answer. Top draw both of you. I've been to quite a few NHRA events in the USA, using both distances. Absolutely leave it at it is. We have sort of top fuel, in the uk, but it's nothing like the 11000 bhp cars you have and the fans would be very disappointed if you took the power away. Bob

I've never been a huge drag race fan. I stumbled across this channel and Clay is such a down to earth good guy, I'm subbing and becoming a fan for sure. It's so refreshing to see humility and class on display like it used to be in racing. Keep it up Clay and drive safe. Also, I agree, 1/8 mile is all you need. Anything more is too much on every level. Danger to drivers and fans, gobs of blown up engines, and speeds that belong of the salt flats. that's my opinion. Hi from England. love your videos and subscribed a few moths ago,. i work with an A fuel dragster when they come from Sweden (Jonny Lagg) to England. Interesting what Alan says about loosing the blower (please don't) to reduce HP. Our a fuel has run 277 on the quarter

Clay I am laying on the couch with a migraine and can’t see out of my right eye. Still love watching, the announcer is right about the 1/4 mile and he knows the data when they took away nitro a few years ago the cars went faster and faster. I like faster but not at the cost of our hero’s!! ❤️

Congrats from the UK on the 100k! (101 k now!!). It was great to see the IHRA bit. Back then I followed your success in that series when there was no way of getting NHRA coverage in the UK and I've been a fan ever since. Top Fuel has sadly pretty much died out in the UK since the pandemic with only 3 cars competing this year so I can't wait to get back over to Pomona and cheer you guys on in November.
