Plus he does a lot of research. The way he made the sample the whole melody then sped it up then put it into gross beat is not intuitive lol. That’s something that only comes up when you’re in a session trying stuff.

I remember being conflicted because I was against "mumble rap" but I knew that it was super catchy and I couldn't convince myself not to like it. This song was one of the main reasons I began to embrace that new generation of rap

It is kind of crazy how the deconstructed one just glosses over the actual melodies. It happens to much in that series where the producer just gets' the sample loop from someone else instead of breaking it down to presets and progression.
tm88 made the sample with another producer, he prob just didn’t have the flp for that loop anymore since it was old

after jw lucas got cancelled, he also got exposed for taking a lot of producers' loops and samples under the guise of "management" and sending them out without crediting them and working on them, as was the case with what's poppin by jack harlow. jw lucas likely did send him the melody or whatever part of it but i don't think he actually made it, or at least tm88 worked on it a bit
I first heard Xo Tour Llif3 when I was on vacation in Georgia with my sister, it was probably like summer 2017 and it played on the radio and my sister said “omg this is the best song ever, do you know lil uzi vert?” and at the time I was like 10 so I didn’t really listen to music, but after listening to uzi I’ve been in love with rap and that song always has the vibe of springs in Georgia.

I remember listening to music when this song came out, and I was in 7th grade. The first few times I heard the song, I remember not really liking it because I wasn't into the "emo sad" music, and the lyrics gave off that impression. However, it quickly grew on me, and I realized it was unique, different, and a masterpiece of its time. I had that shit on repeat for the longest time.
