Great to see an aussie doing these sorts of videos
Dude, wrap your gaffer tape round the middle of your Sawyer, it saves space and helps stop the filter freezing
:)
You've been a fantastic inspiration to me to get amongst the Buddawangs and local SE NSW forests. I'm carrying most of the kit you've got, and love your explanations for why and when..Keep it up please.
It's so nice to know how you set up your organizer!
Can't to wait to watch your next adventure!
Nicely organized. I'll make a version of this. Thanks for showing us Scotty.
Thanks mate, really appreciate this review. Been hanging out for this! Keep up your awesome work.
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video mate and awesome pouch. Love the tape around the lighter idea! I'll be using that one for sure!
Bought one of these after watching your video. As you said a great piece of kit. Thank you for the great video and recommendation.
Nice, Scotty. I notice your love to these things. I take a piece of that with me.
Good stuff mate it’s good to have you back on starting to get a few withdrawal symptoms from your shows now that I’ve caught up to real time 🇦🇺🤠👍🔥🍺🍺
Nice one man. I've used an organiser similar to that for years. Always cool to see what others use in theirs.
You are organized at an awesome level. 😲👍
Thanks Scotty, yer always entertaining and informative. Bewdy
Awesome vid mate, looking forward to the cooler months so I can get out of iso and go camping. Need a organiser like thay for my bag
Great Video, very informative! Need to set up my own EDC pack like that soon!
I been doing the ultralight thing and throwing all this kinda stuff in a gallon Ziploc bag... But after watching your videos I felt inspired to build a kit like this. Found a cheap medical organizer similar to this to give it a try. Great videos Scotty
... and the boys go wild! 😉
Thanks for sharing Scotty, good to see what's in other CZcamsrs kits 👍
Agreed always cool to see what others carry
Great piece of packing kit. Safe to say you won't be without a fire with 6 ways to start one :)
3 likes, no views, scary! Inspiring and helpful as always Scotty. Thanks for the escape. I have looked for these on Amazon last year but they aren't available here, so I improvised something with a first aid kit organizer.
Great vid mate. I love these vanquest pouches and have a couple of the fat pack style for Med kit and essential gear. One word of comment is to have one backup fire source and water treatment somewhere else on your kit or person (mini tin). You don’t want a (touch wood) loss incident with this pouch to take out all your critical gear in one go.
I hope someone from Leatherman watches this ! It's time for an upgrade !
I wish there was more actual retail shops in Australia to buy this gear !
Thanks for the detailed review, been looking at getting something like this for a while, but never seen any with a color on the inside so you can actually find stuff.
Those a really great organisers indeed.
I have one similar to yours for all my high use and basic survival stuff and another like it for a bush first aid kit. Sweet kit mate.
Same here
I use a similar little kit that also contains my first aid gear, makes it handy to take all the must have gear in different pack's/boat/canoe 👍
Cheers Daryl Webb
Good on ya mate it won't be long till lockdown is lifted in NSW I would love to see a just fishing video one day
Thanks and Stay safe mate!
Good load out and very good pouch thanks for sharing God bless you atb
Well done mate.
I took down notes. Cheers
Love the load out mate. Organisation of my kit need to be adjusted. Just using dry bags atm...
Scotty, as soon as I first saw you with that pouch I wanted one, found and purchased one. They are indeed an awesome bit of gear. I purchased something else that looked similar, but it's not even close to being that good. Out of all the tips, tricks, advice I've gained from your channel, that pouch is definitely my favourite.
Blackshack’s Bushcraft where did you find the pouch?
@@christophersmith2695 A simple google will take you to the Vanquest web site.
Thanks Scott. I have a pack similar but yours is so much compact and prioritized. As always, love the video. Always learning
Great kit!!!
Great video. Recommend checking out the Exotac Ripsool. Combines the tape with the needle and thread in a nice package.
Maxpedition could learn a thing or two from Vanquest. The second row of elastic on the left side is a good idea. My Beefy only has one row on each side.
You rock dude
great kit
Great video!
Hi Scotty, love your channel! Wondering if you can camp on crown land during covid, we wanted to do the six foot track next week but the parks have now said that all camp grounds will need to be booked which isn’t up and running yet, looking for an alternative for a 3 night hike/camp if we can’t go, hoping that you or other subscribers might have some options for us 2hrs out of Sydney or so, cheers gary
Great video! Would love to see a good review on your bivy. Thanks for the videos
Good idea. I'll try and do one soon.
Hey mate, love the videos keep it up. Was wondering if you could make a video of the best places you’ve hiked in Australia NSW. I’m located in NSW and I’m keen to check out some new places. Thanks :)
With your power bank, if you can open it up easily enough, you might find 4x 18650 batteries of 2,500 mAh, that can easily be replaced.
If I were going to replace them, I'd be looking at the Samsung INR18650-25R (about $6 each). There's a wide and confusing array of choices and this would be a conservative and reliable option, IMHO.
Do a camera gear video!!!!!!1
Any chance of links for where to buy all this gear? Love your content....quality 100%
Good channel!
Got one of those pouches when I saw you use it on an older vid, I couldn't get green at the time ended up with wolf grey, but yeah awesome edc also bought the dark emu book from an older vid of yours. 👍
How did you wind that gorilla tape so well????? Great reviews. Bought the organizer and am super happy with it !
Hande tip for pencil use a H2 to H4 pencil instead of HB it last longer and is harder, less change to break inside
Liking the videos... subbed :-)
G'day Scotty. Thanks for another great video. I did some googling and it appears the Fresnel lens is pronounced FRA-nel or something like that. I believe the S may be silent in the French pronunciation, the lens being developed by a French physicist for use in lighthouses. And here I was thinking it was just American's bastardising the English language again lol.
Scotty what canon camera do you use? Is it compatible? Great video
Hey bud do you know where to get the vanquest gear in Australia can't Ging them anywhere but overseas cheers bud great vids all round
Do a video on how to make a Ferro rod handle
Missing your camping content Scotty.
Hey Scotty have you looked at the Tasmanian tiger ranger pack.
I’d be very interested to see a vid of what woods you have had success making fire from bow drill with, I’ve read that most Australian woods are horrible for bow drill, which is why Aboriginals traded grass tree around the country and made such a big deal of ‘carrying fire’? How realistic is bow drill in Australia? Thanks
When we get back to normal be good to see you over here in the Kimberleys mate got some bloody good Gorges to go walking up over here🤠👍
Good video thanks! Just ordered one 😎 BTW before you get sawyer mini check CZcams a guy did compare of all sawyers said by far best flow is Sawyer Squeeze 0.1
You're not wrong. Its commonly known in hiking groups that the squeeze is the way to go because of blocking up issues
Scotty, what about a bit of first aid stuff in an EDC, maybe not a snake bite size compression bandage but at least some basic stuff.
I've got a dedicated first aid kit.
From Thailand 🍺
interesting combination of wet things and not-so wet things. do you ever get dampness from sawyer bootle/filter etc getting onto camera batteries of fire lighting gear? Im not being picky, it struck me very early on and I am just interested if you have ever had any problems with water inside the pouch from the steri-gear?
No I've never had any issues with that. Once I'm done with the water filter I'll give it a good dry before I put it back in the pouch.
Where did you get that little needles container ??
1000d is probably overkill ( in terms of weight penalty for a return in practical use ) for an EDC Pouch ... 500-700d will get you the same level of robust protection and few grams lighter and less bulk if weight saving is anything you care about. I'm all for going robust but even the TT Raid Pack MkIII is 700d ... grams = kegs and kegs = pain. If it works all to the good - I'd just go lighter material.
handy organizer , but where can you buy them ?
I looked around a bit on eBay etc but getting it from the vanquest website was the cheapest. I got the "edcm huge" organiser which is like the husky but slightly bigger
How do you stow your tripod and carry your camera on a hike?
We need a new video
We’re did u get you flint from
Thanks for the video. Five different fire starting methods seems pretty excessive. Is that just for fun or do you genuinely think that much redundancy is needed?
Which color is this pouch?
Do you carry sutures in your medical pack?
Is it illegal to take a multi tool / bush knife camping? As I have just got back to aus and am unsure
State laws vary regarding carrying knives. You will be required to show "genuine need" most likely - camping, fishing etc all should be OK as a reason. Hunters have had knives confiscated, but usually when they gave the police a reason - shooting from public roads, poaching on private property, unlicenced/unregistered firearms etc.
These are a great piece of kit! You can now get these in Australia at www.auprep.com.au
Scotty where does a man acquire such a pouch? Do you happen to have a link¿
I can't remember where I got it from but here's a link to their website www.vanquest.com/edcm-husky-2-0-edc-maximizer-organizer/
Pity it don’t come with some gadgets to get started
A very odd selection of stuff for EDC. Why so many fire starting kits?.
David Cooper As it says in the title, it’s for my hiking and Bushcraft trips so not that odd.
It’s a purse !
Kangaroo dung tinder takes an ember from a magnifying glass? Interesting, more plentiful than tree fungus if you don’t have charred material pre prepared
You are handsome no homo pls
ya just dont need 4 ways to start a fire in your kit..waste of space....
