Thanks, the motor has quite good shields in place, like X-ring rubber shield and top of that another dust/rubber cover. I'll do shields cleaning some day. The best video for showing some details :-) It looks like the water goes in between the axle cap. I would add water resistant grease in there.
i don't know what are you saying, but ok. :)
I have never done maintenance on my bafang engine. 52000km. it works well
@@marcolucarelli5165 good for you, I'm not risking it :)

thanks for the long and detailed video, good job ! I think that grease turns yellow over time without contaminating it
@@dragoss16 your welcome, it's not just yellow, it's black, brown, yellow :)
Think " fully disassemble" falls a bit short. This is just open clean and grease main gear. No bearings removed greased or replaced. Plus it voids the two year bosch warranty.
I don't think you need to go far as this.. bearings where fine, the main gear was hard to remove, so i leave it + it's hard to put it back in (may damage the needle bearing and shaft without a special tool + you can damage the sensor.) it's already past 3+ years.
Great video can i ask what is the blue rubber looking material for on the circuit board ?
It's thermal paste.. :)
Buen vídeo ! ¿ El engrase arregla el ruido durante mucho tiempo ?
Quizás se podría reemplazar la pasta térmica por una nueva ...
un saludo !
rattle noise? no it's still rattles, but less, but that was not the point of the video, bosch says it's not ment to be service... but we can see what happens after 5000 km
Why on earth would you open the motor with only 5000km?
@@mallias2683 I'm glad I did it.. don't you see how dirty it is?
@@RMFUNTIK Is it The smart system motor or previous?
@mallias2683 gen4 2021 model
@@RMFUNTIKFirst of all great video. 2 suggestions......1. The blue thermal paste. I think you should replace it. Once you open the motor the paste breaks and you lose the good contact. And I have also seen on other motors that the paste covers more surface on the board, close to the edge where you see all the small pins. 2. It is a good idea to remove the crank arms and apply grease on the cranks from the outside of the motor casing for better protection. I still think that the motor was fine and it was too early for this kind of service.....
@mallias2683 I agree, greasing around the drive side outer circlip with thick grease after every ride might prevent moisture getting between the shaft and freewheel.
nice
Thanks
Great job. But it’s a lot grease 😅
@@andrews62618 nahh it's ok :)
How did you manage after 3 years to not expose it to water? Only ride on summer days?
@@vashon100 I'm riding only in dry weather :) winter no no for me, I hate cold weather. And I only dry clean my bike. Bosch cx4 and battery are not water proof, ip54 only, dust and light rain...
@@RMFUNTIK Water is what most concerns me, living in WA state. So annoying that manuf would not design for typical riding conditions.
You did a great job of opening and cleaning.
@@vashon100 well Bosch say you can ride in wet conditions, but not rides over water or something like that, but seeing people have problems with their bike after some time.. and repair ain't cheap, so I do not recommend, it's even not safe to store that bike after a ride in the house, short-circuit might cause fire...
But after 4 years of riding, I'm satisfied, I don't like riding in wet conditions or cold weather, so it works with me, and my bike looks like brand new, and I ride like maniac.. :)
Thank you for watching. 🤞
Nice work 😃 are you a pro ?
Thank you, pro of what? 😂
@@RMFUNTIK Repair, do you have a shop or work in one ?
it's my bike.. i don't work in repair shop.

do some editing, pleaaaaaaase

@@RMFUNTIK I think they mean shorten the video, like when your cleaning, we don't need to see as much.
