You don’t THINK | ATLA | BURN AU | Episode 2

Lore/Context:
Burn AU is an AU where Lord Ozai has won the battle against Aang and he’s now kept captive at a prison. Fire Nation grew power during the battle that Team Avatar Lost the battle (but the war was never won or stopped so there is still hope) They received scars and burn marks after the battle, while also costing a life of someone (AKA Sokka).
Phantoms:
Basically, in ATLA (Avatar: The Last Airbender) they have a thing going on with spirits, right? What if I told you if there was a version/opposites of the spirits?
Phantoms; an opposite type of version of the usual ‘passive’ and ‘aggressive’ spirits. Not only are the Phantoms are bad spirits, but they are passive. Unlike bad spirits in ATLA (who are meant to hurt and carnage other spirits) Phantoms are a more opposite-like, only just being passive while keeping the ‘Bad Spirit’ title.
Phantoms are also like Limbos. (Idea I got from DSMP Ghostboo)
Phantoms carry a tremendous and major job that revolves around an individual/human beings grief and sorrow. They haunt, remind, taunt, gossip, whisper and even make the individual guilty for what they had done.
Phantoms will not go away or disappear unless if the individual moves on. Taking a step forward on the ‘acceptance’ stage of grief will drive the Phantoms away for good.
(Note: Once a Phantom is gone, they never come back due to the person now being able to handle moving on from their grief.)
Phantokka (AKA Sokka, just merged ‘Phantom’ and ‘Sokka’ together) isn’t the REAL Sokka, not the ACTUAL Sokka.
Phantokka is the phantom of Zuko, who greatly grieves over Sokkas death. Just like other phantoms, they haunt and taunt around the individual as they grieve.
Zuko hasn’t (and might never will) recovered from the loss and total grief over Sokkas death after that incident. Zuko has been repeatedly over his mind ‘It’s my fault’ because he couldn’t do anything to prevent that incident from happening.
Phantokka dosent really ‘remember’ what Zuko and Sokka did in the past. During their conflicts, battles, truce, and the Boiling Rock. He only remembers specific things, the names and people like Katara, Toph, Aang and his dad (most specifically Zuko, who he’s haunting) but NEVERTHELESS remembers what they did in the past.
Phantokka remembers vaguely about those things, including the incident, but doesn’t really understand the significance of those times he did with the rest of Team Avatar.
(Reminder Note: Phantokka ISN’T Sokka, he’s JUST a Phantom VERSION of him, but NOT the SAME Sokka.)
Phantokka’s personality is opposite to Sokkas, though he still has Sokkas bad and good traits, but never the personality.
He’s careless, arrogant, ambiguous, deceiving and often taunts Zuko for his actions and grief. (Like other Phantoms.)
Phantokka often spies and stalks Zuko as always through his usual behavior (since he’s the Phantom of Zuko of course) but whatever sentimental comforting moments he stumbles upon, he’d get confused and asks himself ‘Why.. Why even bother to try and move on if you just don’t have the ability to bring that person back you lost but only the ability to replace it if you want to?’ (In his case, he just doesn’t understand.)
Phantokka doesn’t understand. He will NEVER understand, because he is JUST a phantom. (Sorry for sounding harsh on him.. 😭)
But he will once Zuko moves on.
IF.. he moves on..

@@Chillbro740 Sokka indeed now has permission to Won Shi Tongs Library. In fact, I did some Wikipedia research from now that you’ve mentioned about the library, since it contains priceless information and history in the past, of course in the Burn AU Phantoms are added to those information. Stored to where they’ve first appeared and how they work.
Sokka didn’t think about visiting the library since the current situation at hand, but even _if_ he did, he would’ve known that Phantokka clearly existed to Zukos perspective.
Because during the Bonus Episode, Sokka Actually doesn’t _see_ Phantokka, he’s in the POV _of_ Phantokka, making him unable to know who or what Zuko is talking to.
Although in canon to the AU, Sokka doesn’t _see_ or _know_ who is Phantokka _yet_, it is possible that he’ll eventually find out about Phantokka
Season 2 of the series hasn’t been planned, but since you’ve brought up the Won Shi Tongs library, I think I’ll be taking note of that :]
