Fun Fact: the Fender Telecaster Deluxe Kurt's playing here actually belongs to Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth. Kurt borrowed it from Lee only for this performance and Lee played it in Sonic Youth afterwards until July 4th, 1999, when it was stolen as part of Sonic Youth's major gear theft. But here's the best part of the story: the guitar was found and returned to Lee in 2005 and Lee still has it in his possession to this day. Just a pretty cool story I thought I'd share with those who didn't know
Wow it's so weird to see Kurt jamming with another band, especially being the guitarist & not singing. This is cool
Yeah, its also kinda weird seeing him with a Fender Deluxe (Thinline) Telecaster.
You couldn't pay me to be the vocalist on a stage with Kurt Cobain!
@triplev1016 fun fact: that wasn't one of his guitars, it belonged to Lee Ranaldo of sonic youth
Kurt's wearing pajamas! I love how Kurt just never gave a fuck what people thought. If he got out of bed and didn't feel like getting dressed that day he didn't care. Name a single celebrity who would dare do something like that today!
Im just really happy Mark's shoes were found and that emotional story arc had a happy ending lol
You know it's a 90s clip when it starts with half a minute of feedback and somebody's in their stripey jim jams.
Thanks from this old man for putting the footage up. Good quality footage.
@@WatermelonSharkyInstrument has pickup, picks up goes to amp, put the pickup near the amp, it’ll pick up what the pickups are picking up, causing a loop, of high pitched sound, aka feedback.
It’s awesome to see Kurt as part of another unit, not being the focal point
Still, he kinda is though.... The focal point. It's strange, he had this magic openness carrying with him. I guess that made him so vulnerable at some other point....
Steve Turner showing Kurt the riff, classic.
Fun fact: This show dated 26th of September, 1992. Kurt and Nirvana already played it at Reading on 30th of August, 1992.
@@suikogarden well he was teaching him the Intro, he didn't play it at the reading performance
@allright715actually he, did definitely play a ton of right handed guitars upside down, just look through photos of bleach era live shows. he had preferred guitars but would also use random pawnshop guitars and just flip the nut.
Fun fact: The Tele Kurt is playing was lent to him by Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo so he could join Mudhoney on stage. I love Sonic Youth... And Mudhoney and Nirvana
One the best rock shows I ever attended.
Not only were Sonic Youth and Mudhoney epic, and Kurt showed up too, but it was our (group of friends) first exposure to Pavement.
Needless to explain we were blown away by them also.
We raced to the merch table to grab Pavement shirts right away.
Looking back, to my taste, this was like a triple bill of Zep, Stones and The Kinks.
Legendary!
+sonicgrub Did Kurt only do this song? he did a few accostac ones right?
+Andre Krumins I remember him coming out in disguise, either a wig and/or glasses and doing Where did you sleep last night and lake of fire, but don't hold me to that. I was feeling super and it was 23 years ago.
sonicgrub Turns out you where right! theres footage of it on youtube! thanks man!
For a bootleg recording from 1992, this looks and sounds awesome!
Kurt was a rhythm guitarist at heart
He would of been a star either way as he was a natural performer .
@@letitbe3625 bud I made that comment 2 years ago honest mistake
Very true, he was a solid rhythm player. Saw them in Vancouver 93, the leads were…not that good. More textural than any knowledge/discipline.
I think Kurt Cobain may have been happy to be a background player, but he stands out as a main player. He just shines.
Kurt moves so funny when he plays guitar in this video... XD
How do you know? I'm sure he's just being silly and getting really into playing the song. He was good friends with Mudhoney, especially Mark. I'm sure he's excited to play with his friends and most likely, influences. Sheldon Cooper
Yeah you're right, plus i believe he was off drugs around this point
@Enrique Mackarel Yeah I'm pretty sure he was clean during that time, I don't think he didn't start really abusing drugs until 93
Nirvana, mudhoney, melvins, fang.
Amo todo este movimiento de los 90/80s
Viva el grunge y el punk rock🎸
Wow I had never seen this video!! Thanks! It’s so cool just seeing Kurt playing in another band jamming & having a great time! Love it❤
Really badass. And Mudhoney playing music with guitarist and vocalist Kurt Cobain live? FREAKING EPIC MUSIC PLAYING!!!!!!!!!
kurt looks like hes havin the time of his life not having to sing
ok, if kurt cobain plays with them it's a band that deserves to be respected
Mudhoney is probably the first grunge band, they inspired Kurt a lot (Bleach is very influenced by them)
They deserve to be respected regardless. If you were any fan of grunge, you'd already know that.
this is actually called “the people who took my shoes”
God I love that guy!! Thanks for this vid. Miss him💔
2 cool guys
1 gone
1 alive
Mark's here
to sing his songs
to live out loud
we sing along
2 cool guys
1 gone
1 alive.
❤❤❤❤❤
This is really damn cool, I’ve never seen this before and I’ve seen a hell of a lot. Thanks a whole lot.
Mad thanks for this post! Prime MH Respect the grungeparents!!
I was at the Castaic Lake show. For some reason, I thought Mudhoney played before the sun went down. Maybe not, I was fryin' hard. One of the many times seeing Mudhoney and Sonic Youth over the years. There was a good run of epic shows at Castaic that summer.
One of my fav songs…just gud damn ROCKS maaan
Wow, I've never seen this before it's awesome.
Kurt and mudhoney on the same stage doing fang omg I think I died and gone to some where heavier than heaven 😳😍
Awesome 👏
I love this!
Курт всегда хорош!!! Помним !!!!
real shit right here
Well, they all knew each other really well and they were all doing what they loved.
Fuck yeah!!!
Tyvm and keep being awesome
Memories 🥲
Kurt Is great playing
Punk rock at it's rawest!!
Awesomeness
¡Wow!
Show the boy those chords and he fits right in. Bless you Mudhoney & Kurt Cobain
Me encanta
Asi seria una banda con kurt cobain como guitarrista y sin cantar. Como hubiera pasado en the melvins,si lo hubieran aceptado.... Genial vídeo
The Best Band Of All Time and The Bast Band Of All Time is a fitting collab lemme tell ya
This is fucking amazing!! RIP Kurt
This is fking awesome
🔥
genial !!!
🔥🔥🔥 Rip Kurt 😞
Kurt was having fun being only a base guitarrist
He said once that he wanted to leave Nirvana and play the base guitar in any unknown band.
Beautiful
Kurt i love you
U-tuBeS about the closest thing at present we have to a time machine to go back and see fucking cool things like this - smokin 3 minutes of music history indeed mR koBAIn!
I don’t understand why Mudhoney didn’t get popular when all the other Seattle bands did their excellent
So bad ass
Nice
i dont know, its look like it was recorded a couple of years ago and not like almost 30 years ago
I wonder if Sammy has seen these videos of one of 'Fang's' song. Nobody today knows , but, 'FANG' RULES!! Apparently , they knew in Seattle....... Where it came from.....
Kurt looks so awkward not being lead he just looks weird as a background guitarist. Thank goodness he was a lead singer and guitarist
no he doesnt, the awkwardness is you trying to process him not singing... he looks fine, and having fun.
Technically he said that he never wanted to sing he said he wanted to write songs and play rhythm guitar in the background
Pajamas and a cardigan ... G_d, when is that coming back?
I wonder what Kurt is using for Distortion, did he take his DS-2, or maybe a Big Muff (in rack) of Steve or the Ibanez 60’s Fuzz of Mark..
Me encantaría hacer esta música...
Nirvana's soul never ends. Now, we have a green grunge band in Indonesia called Navicula. Punk never dies....
This is what grunge was about, having a fn fun time.
awesome ! YEEEAAAH 8|
Nirvana - Lithium - Astoria Theatre, London, UK [11/05-91 ]

Cool shit
hahahaha this is awesome!
bloddy my brain 4ever
funny around summer 91 I was at a 'Renegade Show' with the freakin foursome from Sk8board-hell-on-wheels crew Dan, Tim, Jay n I a top this prkngrg n this new to Cali scene band played some wacko awesome tunes b4 having to move the show to another prkngrg due to the music porters mm I mean cops n shit was so much fun to skate too on acid beer n weed not that it wasn't great music with soberness but the truth be told yes I was on Acid Beer N Weed shredding the hell out of those dammed parkn blocks at the time
Oh fuck that was Nirvana now I remember doh't!
This is a FANG song from 1983. Sammytown is the singer & Tom Flynn is FANG guitarist. You can hear the FANG influence in Nirvana especially Tom's guitar style. Just my opinion. My pals the STIFFS from San Jose would sometimes be on a FANG bill. 1983 1984 was a fun time to be punk.
The original by Fang also slaps
Grunge party!
What guitar is Kurt playing? I know it's a Tele of some sort but what kind?
70's Fender Telecaster Thinline
This guitar actually belongs to Lee Renaldo from Sonic Youth.Kurt had borrowed it in 1992 to join Mudhoney on stage for The Money Will Roll Right In.
This guitar was stolen from Sonic Youth in 1999 and returned (refinished) in 2005.
Is Matt Lukin wearing a VB T-shirt???
Mark Arm !
“I’m going to be a star…..
I’m going to have a car and you’ll have to admit……I’ll be rich as shit!”
It just looks so off with Kurt not singing omg, you never see him not singing
Fantastic song, i prefered the mudhoney version. The Nirvana version for me, is bored. I love this song played by mudhoney, one thousand times.
This is so sick you know kurt had respect for mudhoney
These fu cking guys are the foundations of fu cking grunge music!!! RIP Idol Kurt!
NO my friend, Tales of Terror, Fang, and The Melvins.... That is the foundations.....Tales of Terror "OZZY" The best
Kurt was really enjoying not having to sing.
This is great!
Sounds like Jack White took this and created 'Little People' for The White Stripes
Kurt's telecaster :0
I wonder if its strung right handed
The vocals sound clean vocals needs to be louder
I wonder if this was the first time Kurt played with Dan Peters since he sacked him before Grohl joined?
He really did not sack him...he was always with mudhoney...he just went back....called loyalty
fang
Kurt pernah bilang dia lebih senang jadi rhytm guitar dri pada vokalis
wow mark arm doing a better job at the vocals than kurt int he original version!
This song was not originally by Nirvana. It was by a band called Fang.
Fuck I don't know why it remind me prodigy who stole ❓
I don't want to reply to a year old comment but Kurt isn't playing guitar right-handed. I had to say it.
something about mark arms is just so ugh
It's good to be a good potato.
-b,
Happy 30th Anniversary Nevermind!🤘
Me and my friends made our own full band version of On A Plain thought you guys might would like!
