Fun fact about Stolas's rant on the phone: In the official cast watchalong livestream they talk about how in the pilot they told Brock Baker (Stolas) he can improv whatever gibberish for the censor joke, no need to actually say anything obscene since the audience won't hear it. So he's just saying normal words behind the bleeps. When they got Bryce Pinkham for Stolas and recorded for this first ep they told him the exact same thing, but then Bryce instead ACTUALLY went on a long, explicit, passionate speech about all the things he wanted to do to Blitz and didn't let up for a solid 3 minutes straight. And Viv and Richard Horvitz (Moxxie's VA and the series voice director) were just jaw dropped in shock listening to this man in graphic detail going on a full on tirade lol. I died when James Monroe Iglehart (Zestial in Hazbin and Ozzy/Tex in Helluva) chimed in like, and that was when Vivienne learned Broadway actors are freaks and should hire more of them lol

Note: Blitzø, Moxie & Millie are imps, not sinners with human souls, and were born in hell. Because of this, if they die, they DIE. Unlike sinners they will NOT regenerate, instead, any injuries they receive will just scar over as a white spot.
Imps as a whole are basically the lowest ranked demons in all of hell, along with hellhounds (Luna). Even lower ranked than sinners.

@@RapidVipercdogYeah, the show is a bit bad at letting people know important lore by saying it IN the show. It’s always said out of the show, but it’s important to know when watching🥲They only ever really say small things, at least in the first few eps to indicate they are not sinners, so it’s a bit confusing for a viewer coming from Hazbin.

Stolas is a real historical demon from Solomon’s canon, the Ars Goetia specifically. Most characters you meet in Helluva Boss will be hellborn or fallen angels.
Lucifer seems to be the only fallen angel so far (because he was cast out for being a theater kid, and not for trying to take the throne, so the other sins wouldn't really have a reason to have gone with him). Asmodeus and the rest of the sins are most likely hellborn.
@WhiteNoBeard471 ehhh I would say it's 50/50 on the sins being fallen angels or hellborn. There's no definite evidence either way but there's a slew of facts that would make a lot of sense if they were fallen angels (and I just think it would be more interesting that way, give Charlie all the cool aunts and uncles, but that's just my opinion haha)

Satan is a Cherubim, Lucifer and Beezlbub are Seraphs, and Asmodeus (only one source states this so take it with a grain of salt) is said to have been born to a human woman and angel man. But that's what they are in demonology, so it could be different in the show
And also, it's worth noting that Lucifer was the highest of the Seraphim, so he's still more powerful than Queen Bee
Yeah, Millie and Stolas had both voice actor changes, but Millie's old voices actor still plays Loona. I think both are doing a great work, especially Stolas voice actors, this man can sing! ❤

I think you’re gonna love Stolas even more as the show goes on! They completely changed what direction they were going to take him in between the pilot and the official series.
I love Stolas (Owl Boy) as well! His character development is really good. My friend got me a Stolas Plushie for an early birthday present and I love it.
Stolas is a member of the Ars Goetia who are the royals of hell, above the Sinners and the Overlords but below Lucifer and his family.
Standard hellborn like Imps and hellhounds aren't immortal and will die permanently if killed anywhere including earth.

Stolas (the owl boy) is a hellborn demon like the rest of the characters but he belongs to Arc Goetia family. They're like a some sort of royalty in Hell and in Hell's hierarchy they're just under Lucifer, Charlie, Lilith and Seven Deadly Sins.
15:15 stolace is not an overlord that is the term for a sinner that has risen to high power usally by owning many souls, stolace is a hellborn like the imps, but he is part of the ars goetia which are powerfull demons much further up the social higherarchy than imps

Btw weeby you dont need to mess with speeds and censor scenes or songs, theyre nowhere near as harsh with this series as they are Hazbin.

I love that you love Stolas so much. He's easily one of the best characters and he only gets better.
Owl guy is Stolas - one of the Princes of Hell from Goetia family, kind of a big deal. Royalty, rich and powerful, as described he is "Great Prince of Hell, commands twenty-six legions of demons. He teaches astronomy and is knowledgeable about herbs, plants, and precious stones. He is often depicted as a raven or a crowned owl with long legs".
I think it's interesting how Loona decided to give Moxxie a reason to shoot the target she was holding, by giving the family in the photo negative qualities. It serves both as foreshadowing to the truth about Martha and her family and hints that despite the way Loona acts, she does care about the people around her, if only just a little bit.
And Moxxie foreshadows his future.

The main cast of helluva boss are all hellborn (specifically Millie, Moxxie, and Blitzo are all Imps, Luna is a hellhounds and Stolas is an Ars Goetia demon.) They all are born and live in hell, can die by normal means (except Stolas), actually age (also except Stolas), and travel to other rings other than Pride (where all sinners are an Hazbin is set).

-In helluva boss, imps are demons born in hell, so they aren't sinners. It's why the bleed black, while sinners bleed red.
-sinner are not able to travel to different rings, because sinners appear in hell with powers which they could easily overpower the imps with
-each ring has its own king/queen, like the pride ring being Lucifer.
-hazbin hotel and helluva boss are in the same universe, however, Satan and lucifer are not the same person in this universe.
-If imps die, they die, angelic weapons are not needed.
-Angelic weapons are needed to kill the king and queen of each ring.
-The white spots on the imps bodies are kinda like scars.
-there are different nationalities of imps depending on which ring they are born in

Hell dose have hierarchy which is
1. lucifer
2. Charlie and Lilith
3. The 7 Sin, which you will meet later on in the show
4. the Ars Goetia (Stolas the bird guy being one of them)
5. Overlords
6. Sinners
7. He'll borns (succubus and etcetera)
8. Imps and Hellhound, Hellhounds being slightly lower for they can be pets (which are the main cast of the show)

Stolas is my fave, he's such a sheltered pure boy lol, people give him a hard time but I don't think they take into account how he was raised or the experiences he has missed being royalty, he's a great character.
Blitz, Moxie, and Millie are Hell born demons, specifically Imps. Loona is a Hellhound, also Hell born. They work in the Pride ring (in Imp City) because they have to deal with humans, and humans in Hell seem to be confined to the Ring of Pride. Millie grew up in the Ring of Wrath with her parents, which very much has a western theme, hence the accent. There is a sort of class hierarchy, with Imps and Hellhounds to towards the bottom, Overlords higher to the top, and nobility, like Stolas, above them. Each ring also has a main boss representing each of the Deadly Sins, Lucifer being in charge of Pride (and living, like Charlie, in Pentagram City), but it is unclear if the main boss are higher than or equal to the nobility.
So, the weird thing about hellborne demons and sinner demons is that a sinner demon and a royal demon, like Stolas, can only be killed by the angelic weapons we saw in Hazbin Hotel, where as normal hellborne demons can be killed by any weapon or any means. Its part of the reason sinner demons are stuck in the Pride Ring of Hell, as if they could go to other rings, they may over throw and even kill off other lesser demons just because of that. This isn't a spoiler, its something that was brought up in interviews
Clarifications:
- Only Sinners are "immortal" and can respawn after dying through regular means. if a hellborn is killed they do not respawn! The higher up in the Hierarchy the harder is to kill a demon.
- The list of demon Hierarchy goes as follow:
1. Lower Hellborns (Hellhound < Imps < succubi, etc)
2. Sinners (Those who poses a human Soul)
3. Overlords (Sinners who are powerful enough to be dominant)
4. Ars Goatia (Bird looking demons who are Upper Class Hellborns. Usually more powerful than Overlords)
5. Seven Deadly Sins (Aka the Princes of Hell)
6. Royal Family (Lilith and Charlie)
7. Lucifer
And now we wait for the insane emotional whiplash that is episode 2.

Most of the cast of Helluva Boss was born in hell! Hazbin Hotel focuses on Sinners a lot more, while Helluva Boss focuses on the living world and the native denizens of hell.

The imps and hellborn can be killed by regular means.
They get scars, they get sick, they grow old, cutting someone's head off will probably kill them, being shot will harm them. Scars on imps for example appear as white markings.
The royalty, sins, and sinners can only be killed by angelic weapons. Overlords are just powerful sinners.

Also I'm so excited for you to react to this series especially because you are going to get to watch season 1 in it's entirety. One of the epsidoes wasn't aired well after season two was coming out due to legal issues. In fact for a while it felt like it was never going to see the light of day, so it's going to be interesting to see how you experience the show as it was intended. I'm sure more people will drop more specifics on the situation around the epsidoe as we get closer to it.

Weeby, please note that imps (millie, mox and blitz), hellhounds, (loona) and hellborn are born in hell. Which is why they age, and can die. Sinner’s can only die by angelic weapons, anything can kill imps, hellborn & hellhounds. This is also why theres characters in helluva boss so against death, as they didn’t necessarily do anything sinful. Also, the demon royalty (stolas) are also born in hell, but they are similar to sinners in the fact that they can only die by angelic weapons.

Oh you'll be having a field day. Season 1 is 8 episodes long, but Season 2 is only halfway done! The creatives behind mentioned that it'll have 14 episodes and that the second half of the season will be released over the course of 2024.
So we already have 15 episodes out, plus another 7 on the way!

I love how the hellborn demons like Blitzo, Millie, Moxie, Loona and Stolas have their own hell based morality sense, they are not really that evil like the sinners in Pride Ring
The way Moxie acted about killing a mother in the family will actually make a lot more sense when you get to his backstory

1:42 These are my theories on how Adam managed to get into heaven:
-As the first person ever, the archangels in heaven might have been too prideful to send their first creation to hell, which would admit their mistake and give Lucifer a win.
-Since Adam was the first person to die, there might have been no entry requirements for heaven yet. Meaning that no matter terrible he was, he was still technically the kindest, friendliest, smartest, and most considerate person to ever die.
Sinners actually can't be killed by other sinners, they just regenerate/respawn. That's why overpopulation is such a big deal in hell and why the extermination happens.

It begins
yup, so others have already mentioned this but Helluva Boss is going to be about the hellborn - imps (Blitz, Moxxie, Milli), hellhounds (Loona), the Ars Goetia (royal demons like Stolas), and more. Hazbin is about sinners (human souls who end up in Hell).
Hazbin takes place in the Pride Ring, where Lucifer rules. Imp City is also located in this ring but i believe Hazbin primarily takes place in Pentagram City. the sinners can’t leave the Pride ring, but the hellborn can traverse freely to the different rings.
you can tell which ring they’re in based on the color of the sky (Pride = red) and overall vibe of the place. we actually get to see more rings in future episodes, but that’s all i’ll say! :)

Stolas is one of the royal hellborns. His role is basically astrology and uses his grimoire for rituals on every full moon as part of his duties
Owl boy/Stolas is one of the 52 demons of the Ars Goetia. In lore they are dukes, barons, princes, etc of hell that rule over specific subjets (stolas is specifically Astronomy and astrology, i think. this is why you can see a lot or star and constellation imagery assossiated to him). Within the lore o fthe series the goetia are essentially Hell's nobility.
Damn, after knowing where the series goes from here, this episode is helluva different. Also, Stolas best boy forever.

Stolas is a Prince of the Ars Goetia, which basically functions as hellborn aristocracy. In terms of power, they're generally comparable to the Overlords. Stolas specifically was at one point stated to be stronger than Alastor.
Comparable? Heck no, they're ABOVE the overlords. Goetians are rank 4 in the overall hell hierarchy, only having the sins, Charlie, Lilith and Lucifer above them

In terms of the political hierarchy yes, not necessarily power. While power is closely tied to Hell's hierarchy it isn't 1-1. You have to remember people like Octavia and Stella are included in the Ars Goetia. Only the high ranked Ars Goetia are stronger than all Overlords.
@@tomfou Not really, no. Hell's hierarchy is about power and social influence combined.That's why Overlords stand above other Sinners, because they obtained more power via collecting souls. And the Goetia are born into immense power. Every single one of them has more power than even the strongest Overlord. Stella has never shown her power because she'd rather bitch and get other people to do her dirty work for her. Octavia, being Stolas's daughter, you can assume she's as powerful as him or even more powerful, depending on Stella's own natural power. Yes, Sinners can gain more power but to reach the heels over a Goetian, who is naturally powerful, I'd say it's nigh impossible because it would require a massive amount of souls. Imagine it as a tech mogul gaining more power than a prince, the tech mogul being the overlord and the prince being a goetia

Nothing suggests the lower ranked Goetia are that strong. They haven't done anything impressive and there are only statements about their general hierarchy placement.
It's much more reasonable to assume the strongest Overlords are more powerful. Especially considering how unimpressive even Stolas, an actually high ranked Goetia, was against Striker.
@@tomfou Striker had the advantage of using blessed weapons that severely restrict Stolas's powers. Without said blessed weapons he would have been no threat to Stolas. Besides, if you're calling Stolas unimpressive and we know for a fact he's stronger than Alastor, what does that say about Alastor, the one who is said to have imprisoned and tortured many "heavy hitter" overlords? In fact, what does that say about Overlords in general? Nothing good, clearly
