Thank you for saying what I think a lot of people were thinking when this set was released as the "successor" to the S12/S12 Pro. I was definitely disappointed with the price tag. To me $200 would have been a lot easier to swallow and I might have actually bought them based on how much I like my S12 Pro. But this does happen. Companies can overreach based off of the success of previous products. It is apparent that is exactly what Letshouer did. And equally disappointing from such a powerhouse in the iem world. They should have done better.

I agree the price of the S15 is excessive for what it is. When companies reduce the build quality and increase the price from previous models it always comes across to me in a negative way like a cash grab or experiment to determine how many people can be fooled into buying it based on hype. Although that's only one aspect of the total package, there doesn't seem to be anything standout enough to come close to justifying what they're asking. The market is too competitive and there are so many other options more worthy of consideration as you mentioned. Thank you for another great review! 👍

100% they're just trying to make a big profit on them.
There's no way they cost more to make than the S12 Pro, even with the extra accessories, they still would have cost roughly the same to produce.
And now you can get a better IEM than the S15 for less than 100 USD.
I'd even take the 7Hz Sonus over the S15, which I also just got, and I paid for the Sonus myself, and it's much better value, and sounds more like what you'd expect in an IEM these days, even under 100.
