This guy is seeing with his own eyes close up over many years. Not some pHd thesis or academic doing a study in the pocket of a lobby group, that the over population of otters are seriously inpacting fish stocks on our rivers. A start would be for academics to acknowledge this. But no "nothing to see here". The emperor is fully clothed. When angler's who fish the same river for years see the emperor is naked. Angler's are on their own on this one, as it all happens under water and most of the none angling public think we eat the fish we catch. out of site out of mind and all the media do reporting issues on rivers, is the inpact on the cutest animals they can film, rarely a mention of fish. When fish stocks are so low and the otters more regularly clear out garden ponds of expensive kio carp, the issue of predation might get a little more interest. There's still a long way to go before it gets better. I dont believe in culling. Some form of otter contraception would be a start.
