Hello Dorothy... I'm a fan and since you start this youtube videos, I Was one of the firsts to subscribe and everytime i know about modern music from autumn leaves to misty, I took it all from here.... I want to learn more and get deep inside this universe but unfortunately i dont have much money to afford your online courses...Can you help me please !? There are literally no other videos on CZcams, that explains jazz piano this well. Super fast, super informative, and can't wait for the next videos to come!
"This will require some practice." A sound erupts from me. Is it a laugh, a cough, a sneeze, a sigh, a groan, a shout, a hallelujah, a garbled telegram to the Admiralty warning of an approaching fleet? There is a serious wealth of technique presented at high speed here. If you're committed to learning to play jazz, and this seems to soar over your head...bookmark it. You'll want to come back.
Jimin: you can give me your tips anytime! Wow. As a prof piano player and teacher, I’ve got two words for you…Hats. Off. No one could be fooled into thinking you’re a robotic style virtuoso technician. Oh no. You’ve got SOUL girl. I really get the feeling that you’re channeling Garner. AND you have a super sweet style of teaching. Great to discover your channel. (Shhhh don’t tell anyone - I now have about 10 great lessons to use for my students! Love, Danny x)
Very nice ! I will stop by again and work on this. It sounds beautiful and I always love Erroll's playing.I want to be able to do this well. Great tips. Thanks so much. I love your videos 🌹
Great video. I really find videos that give me basis / technique that I can focus on really helpful, since it gives me something to work towards and while I'm practicing this particular thing, I naturally will be able to experiment more easily. Thanks for this.
This was so awesome! I've never played this style of piano with swinging quarter notes in the left hand, and laid back right hand chords. Thanks so much for this video 😁!
h I forgot to mention that Errols' older brother was my frien Linton...family was from Pittsburg.. You are such aweet musician.... I had a trio in Busan circa 2004... I loved Korea.
I'm 6 minutes into the video and I've already picked up four great tips. This is a video that I'll be coming back to over and over, learning to apply these techniques. Super content! Thank you!
Thank you Jimin! You are such a genius! I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I have to admit most of the videos are advanced and hard to play. This video is the first time I feel that it is simple enough to follow. Could you please make videos with exercises to improvise bebop lines? Thank you very much!
This is great! You play Garner so well. I'm 50 now and it's my burning ambition to play Garner as well as you. I also love your straight to the point teaching videos. I saw a brief Dick Hyman video of him playing Garner style and that's what I've been using up until now! Another favourite of mine is Teddy Wilson. Thanks Jimindorothy.
