Or maybe instead of putting together random shit in hopes that it would work, how about you pack for the the appropriate conditions of the trip, in this case, snowshoes? The tent one is pretty good though. This ain’t the 1700s; there’s plenty of equipment that you can pack for nearly every weather condition in the modern age. It’s very good to learn survival techniques but remember that good gear is just as important as skill.

Why was the bark needed ? Kill a tree for what !?!?!
Taking bark from a tree will not kill the tree. It will regrow the bark under any condition. The only way to kill a tree is to pour toxic stuff under it like salt water under it causing the roots to get sick. Even cutting down a healthy tree doesnt kill it. It will grow new branches off of the stump if the roots are healthy.
Many other ways to shovel snow , especially when you have two tennis rackets . I have taken survival courses and never have they included stripping bark off a living tree . Find a dead tree , or maybe pack a small folding shovel . He had an axe , a ñarge knife , and tennis rackets . I am sure that a shovel would not be a packing issue . Plus a shovel is a multipurpose tool . Still trying to figure out what person in his right mind would use temnis rackets for this purpose . I have witnessed this growth in outdoor exploration by people who have no clue whatsoever about survival . Watching CZcams videos does not count as experience .

Imagine, you are in the forest in Winter with thin clothing, but prepared with a tent, tennis rackets, axt and even with zip ties. Oh no, you don't have a shovel (who could guess, you would need one). You could use the bark of an death tree or cut you a shovel with the axt from it. But no, you must kill a healthy tree, because you are THE survival expert... Weak 😒

@@oldgangster4119 I'm a arborist not trying be one of those keyboard warriors by saying this but that hurt that tree alot there a layer called the cambien layer in between the bark an hardwood that the only thing that brings fluids an nutrients up the tree u can kill a tree by simply cutting around the whole thing lije even a centimeter all the way around now granted he didn't go completely around but that took half or more of the nutrients away from tgat tree for many years plus that spot will most likely become a rot hole in the future

Deer elk and in some places lions consistantly scratch off the bark and it grows back. You can take bark from a tree with out making it sick or killing it. I can't believe how many people i have to tell this to. It is a wild tree. Even if he cut the tree down the tree will grow branches next spring and the wound will scab over and heal.
