Mr. T was my teacher, and he is the reason I'm going to design school today. I can't begin to describe how much better he made my middle school experience, and I am so so happy that he got this. He's such an objectively good and talented person
that's great you were able to have him as a teacher and good luck to you furthering your education
@@annmariesmith3697 thank you:,)
Awesome
He was my teacher too last year! I’m a freshman now and I still keep in touch with him. He was my favorite art teacher I’ve ever had and I wish I could have him as my art teacher one last time.
Mr. T is and always has been the absolute GOAT, one of the most impactful teachers in my life
Mr. T impressed me when he was my daughter’s teacher, several years ago. I knew he was a dedicated teacher but what an excellent human being!
Oddly, he doesn’t look any older. Thank you so much, Mr. T and thanks for those great donations, PepsiCo!
Amazing man!!! Can you believe that a TEACHER with a college education needs to be a dishwasher just to be able to be financial secure and help his students??? There is something definitely wrong with the system! No wonder teachers are leaving in droves 😞
Agreed
Congratulations Mr T. You deserved better than this. It is so humiliating that teaching profession is underrated and educators are underpaid. Your nation's future depend on them. If you do not appreciate them in the right way, your future generation will suffer. Luckily most of them willing to sacrifice their money, time and energy for their pupils' benefit. Kudos to them. I am proud to be a teacher for my pupils for nearly 30 years in my country Malaysia. Our generosity and sincerity will be paid, appreciated and valued by Allah the Almighty, present and the hereafter. Aaminn ya robbal a'lamin.
It's really a national SHAME that we under-pay our teachers to the point that a teacher has to work two job to get by, and use his or her own money to buy supplies! My hats off to this wonderful teacher who is making a differences in these children's lives.
I graduated from high school in 2016 and most of my teachers had a part-time job. It wasn't uncommon to go to the grocery store on Saturday morning and see my English teacher stocking shelves or going to Starbucks with my mom and seeing my History teacher making coffee.
This is what happens when you have a culture that never truly valued education mixed with a field that has historically been made up of women (where low pay has those sexist roots) and one political party makes it perfectly clear that they despise educators (especially those in public schools) and are happy to cut funding wherever and whenever they can. It's ridiculous how little has changed in 100+ years. No wonder teachers are leaving in record numbers. They're underpaid and underappreciated.
@@brett8460 I’m sorry but this never happens in another country.
When you pay teachers high pay, then you get a lot of them that are only in it for the money, the exact opposite that you want spending the day with your kids... you want teachers that teach from the heart, in the first place.
@@malachi- absolutely not. Teachers deserve a living wage. Doesn’t everyone just work for money? That is literally the point of every job. You’re a very greedy person
@@greenerytuin579 Wow, you are so smart, I never thought of that...
I had the privilege of growing up with Fred. he was a grade ahead of me but we both shared a passion for drawing. super proud of him.
More beautiful stories like this, please.
“Takes a village to raise a child.”
You are the village, just on your own, Mr T.
What an awesome human. He goes above and beyond for the students. And it's obvious that the students love him. God bless you and keep you.
Mr. T represents the greatest of humanity
So ridiculous that our teaches have to get other jobs. I have many teacher friends who have to set up Amazon wish lists, etc to hopefully get what they need for their classrooms/students. It’s a disgrace.
Good job Mr. T!! 💕
Yes it is ridiculous! I know so many teachers that have more than one job. when my brother was a teacher he did a lot like teaching Saturday school, teaching summer school, coaching, doing the school website, doing an afterschool club…
Its a part-time job, always has been. They hire in knowing its a part-time position. Where my sympathies lie with teachers is the rotten undisciplined and violent kids they have to deal with. The public school house is becoming obsolete. Its time parents become more responsible for their child's education. Online schooling is the future.
@@saltminer9120 A part time job?? You have got to be kidding. Teachers work 10 hours a day and go home and work. They have to buy their own classroom supplies. As far as home schooling goes some people don’t have that option. Sure, learning begins in the home. Do you even have kids and if so does your partner stay at home to teach, cook, clean, pay the bills etc?? Enjoy Lala land. SBJ!! 🤣
@@saltminer9120 how is teaching a part-time job? When I used to visit my brother he would be off to school before I even woke up and he wouldn’t get home till 6:30 or later because he coached.
@@kaistockman6443 teaching is a part-time job. They get laid off every year for months. Its a part-time position.
What a wonderful man. God bless you Mr. T. Thank you for taking care of our kids.
What an inspiring story!! Those children are so blessed to have a caring teacher like Me T!!
I just noticed not many comments here. If this had been a segment about the Royals, or an actor/actress or politics, there’d be thousands of comments under this video but it’s about an inspiring teacher who works tirelessly to keep supplies in his classroom so that hundreds of students benefit every single day.
Sure do wish more people could see the example this man sets for the youth of his community. I am so happy that someone stepped up and gave him a little break so that he can take a breath for a minute.
Thank you Mr T!! Thank you for setting an amazing example of being an adult, being community driven, kind, and an inspiration to these kids that will be tomorrow’s leaders. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Thank you mr. T for everything you do for the children 💪🏾❤️
Mr. T is Awesome! we need more teachers like this without the circumstances!
That was amazing. Teachers are heroes!
Yea Mr T!!! Thanks to all Educators!!
I miss my art class teacher in highschool she was funny and we had so much fun in the class but learned at the same time.
I really am tired of these stories not because this is not an awesome well deserving teacher who deservedly is receiving supplies and recognition. It’s that this is like a really nice gold watch thank you to a teaching professional who has to WASH DISHES IN A RESTAURANT TO HAVE FINANCIAL SECURITY! We are in no way dealing with the fact that this highly educated, motivated craftsman, who fills in unpaid by his own admission for activities that are needed by the school has to get a 2nd job. No amount of cheering and art supplies is going to completely fix this. I understand this is a feel good story and I’m glad he got art supplies because they are needed, but we need to address the real reasons for teachers issues.
Aww, these kids are very lucky to have him as a teacher. It seems like he really wants his students to be successful.I wish there are more teachers like him y'all. Back in my days, the teachers don't care nor wants the students to be successful! Good luck to him and his students 👏 ❤️
Wow congratulations keep up the hard work!! 👏
What a beautiful man he is
The schools in the US can’t even pay a teacher for supplying the classroom that they have to work second jobs.
And literally headlines everywhere “America is short thousands of teachers!” Like it’s a big surprise or shock.
🙄 it’s offensive how underrated, underappreciated, underpaid teachers are.
Seriously, bless his heart.
What a great teacher 👏🙌. Such a great inspiration to us all.
Go Mr. T!
WE LOVE YOU MR. T!!!!
Mr. T is my Current Art teacher and has honestly inspired me so much
My mom is a teacher and all of her sisters are too. I love children and I was going to become a teacher until I saw how much they’re paid.. I said absolutely NOT. No matter how much I love kids and how I’m ‘good for the job’ I need a living wage too. God bless teachers
I saw one kid having a poster reading ' Mr T for president ' 😍😍😍
Yea that was my favorite one ☝️
Mr. T. Thank you 💓💓💓💓💓.
Wow this is an amazing teacher
Mr T reminds me about my dad my dad is also a Teacher and he has fun teaching his students.
Those are the best kind of teachers!
Congratulations Mr T 🥳
He’s my art teacher this year he’s absolutely the best teacher out there
The fact that teachers in Texas (and all over the US) have to work two jobs just to be able to provide the resources to do their jobs well is a shame. People take incredible educators like Mr. T for granted by the thousands every day in the US. The 300,000 teacher shortage number might bring them to attention sooner rather than later. As a teacher, I didn't quite find it inspiring to hear how he does everything for the school- I found it relateable and tragic. So many teachers feel the same way- devastated by the lack of resources, and stuck between a rock and a hard place. You either sacrifice your own life, free time, maybe even your own kids to support your students, OR you don't make those sacrifices and have to live with being a crappy teacher because you aren't given enough to do your job well and do right by the students. The lack of criticism of state funding in this piece, plus the snarky 'other teachers are burning out and opting out', was not surprising but still disappointing. Meanwhile, thousands of other good souls like Mr. T will live the same over extended lives and never get a TV spot or a corporate check. I am glad at least one of the countless hardworking educators is being supported and recognized, but this is no way to run things. This man is a legend but it shouldn't have to be this way. Teachers deserve better. Students and families deserve better. I imagine people in other countries see this and think, what is going on in the US?
I felt the same way about the other teachers are opting out part. As they SHOULD!
@@cri5tal YES! This is not a lifetime commitment nor a volunteer position. It's a career and a trained profession and if you are not being respected the way you should? OPT. OUT.
Thank you we need more people like you
I’ve been a friend of Mr. T’s for many years. He is truly all this and more. If any of you great people out there would like to lend some practical support to his students and his teaching endeavors, please send me a quick message and I'll provide you the link to Mr. T's classroom supplies wish list. (Post a reply here. Or, click my name, then the "about" tab.) Thank you so much!
WOW!! Congrats Mr T💥💯👍💖!!

Teacher
Peace out
This is kinda sad... Think about the other teachers that still do the same thing and don't get a reception like this... He seems like the type of teacher that leaves a mark with some students...
Most students, maybe every - he causes a ripple effect, as well.
I was his student only last school year in 8th grade. He definitely left a mark, and a good one. He was such an amazing art teacher and I think he definitely deserves this, but of course ALL teachers deserve this.
CSMS was a great middle school and each of the 8th grade teachers were so kind to all the kids.
I hope someday things will change for teachers and that they will all get what they deserve. I am grateful for each of my teachers 🙏🙏
@@nagachika5315I still go to small ,going into 7th grade never knew he had a side job he’s the greatest art teacher I’ve ever had he’s super kind caring and funny and we’re always doing something new in art class ❤
Works 2 jobs. Shame Texas and the whole unite States, teachers should make a good salary.
I’m miles from school
You are the best
Should have been 100,000 Pepsi you can afford that! 10k goes by fast.....
Thats good he works 2 jobs since teaching is a part-time position.
I know they want to surprise him but it would have been nice to allow him to make the shopping list. He is an art teacher after all and his supplies are expensive ones (special papers, canvas, different paints etc). Maybe they did or maybe it was generic supplies for the school at large, not art. 🤷♀️
Inspired! I lost my teaching job years back but my greatest happiness is that I was able to follow up most of your ideas to start a home based business and can proudly say that I'm sure of $1650 daily withdrawal. Thank you so much.

Is Mr. T a Filipino Teacher?
😚
For someone that goes to small everyone calls him mr tabares
I'm the author of EIGHT DAYS IN AN INNER CITY SCHOOL please talk about the out of control OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING for k-12 teachers that's why we have teacher shortages
This system is broken & these high paid administrators are at fault. It angers me how these teachers have to get multiple jobs to survive
Can he use what he buys for the school as a tax deduction.
Teachers can get a $300 tax deduction. That's all.
@@GonzalezKoerber thanks for your reply.
