#jcvd #jeanclaudevandamme #cyborg #suddendeath - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Universal Soldier FTW. Great story, and the showdown with Dolph Lundgren is epic. Van Damme was not afraid to try any story, and let himself get his ass kicked, unlike Seagal.
Though not as awesome as a spear from Goldberg.
The Behind the Scenes material is amazing, where Jean Claude imitates Dolph and the way he speaks. xD
Thanks! Will look for it.
@Eugene Fitzherbert he killed hem self
I LOVE the love that Sudden Death has been getting from people lately. One of JCVD's BEST performances from that era.
"But for me, it was Tuesday." Man Raul Julia was savage.
R.I.P.
One of the best villainous lines of dialogue from any movie ever. Julia fucking crushed it as Bison.
One of my favorite Van Damme films is Death Warrant. Cheesy 80’s action at its finest.
The sandman !
Death Warrant is one of his lesser known movies. Very good though.
MIne's his appearance in Breakin as a random dancer on the beach lol
For 25 years, I've checked the horizon for an arriving Bison to grace my village that Tuesday.
Hahahahahaha.
Apparently you're not loving at SHADALOOOOOOO!!!
I loved Sudden Death! Me and my brothers were Hockey kids and thought it kicked ass! Watched it many times
Jean Claude Van Damme is a demi-god who willed early 1990s action films into existence.
Universal Soldier, Cyborg, Bloodsport and Kickboxer are the best and my favorite JCVD movies!!! Basicaly scifi and tournament Van Damme is the coolest!
*I liked Cyborg!* ✅🙂
I like this WORLD!
That spirit reply caught me off guard. LOL
Broooooooo! These JCVD flicks are my personal favorites of his!
One of the best action actors no doubt.
I rewatch Jean-Claude Van Damme's past movies over and over and I never get tired of them, I'm 37 and I was a 90's kid and grew up watching his films and still remember like it was yesterday when Sudden Death came out at the video store which I waited 4-5 hours at the store waiting for them to get a copy it in.
I literally enjoy most of his movies. Between Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Willis, Norris, Segal and any other big 80's and 90's action stars... Van Damme has always been my favorite!
I love Cyborg. I watch it a couple times a year. And when I was a kid I saw Sudden death in the theaters. I think I fell asleep for most of it though. I don't remember a whole lot of it.
Thanks for a great tribute video. I am quite the JCVD fan and consider Sudden Death his best. His most recent collaboration with director Peter Hyams Enemies Closer is great as well and he really steals the show in a fun villainous role. Also really enjoyable is the slacker-comedy Welcome to the Jungle where he has a blast sending up his persona.
Anything from Peter Hyams is usually pretty good.
Wick 4 confirmed !!!!!
The Quest is my all time JCVD movie!!👌👌
Awesome vid! Not a mere pairing of film reviews, the nostalgia angle was truly great. I too remember the effect Fender's voice had on my young self. And I still recall when kids in high school called him "John Claude Van Damme".
Both films were truly great and underrated.
(But for a moment, I thought you were going to mention the odd twist of Raymond J Barry & Boothe switching sides as good & evil characters from their recent action hit with Brandon Lee, "Rapid Fire". Glad you mentioned the "Masters of the Universe Part 2" story.)
My sister woke me up at 1 in the morning to watch Cyborg on late night TV. :) I might have been 12 years old.
Cyborg, one of the greatest movies ever made.
I love John wick but the raid 1 and 2 are insane
Cyborg is easily my favourite Van Damme movie. Just short of amazing.
The ode to JCVD made my allergies act up
This also creeped me out as a kid! Thank you for the shot of nostalgia and inspiring me to re-watch Cyborg, something I haven't seen since I was like 7 or something
great review on 2 gems.
gonna go watch cyborg now
"In Hell" and "Replicant" are my favourites with JCVD. Great video !
"Replicant" was my eye opener back then, to realize the character-role abilities of Jean Claude. This man CAN ACT if you let him.
R.I.P. Ringo Lam.
His JCVD trilogy (Maximum Risk, Replicant, In Hell) is honestly some of Jean-Claude’s best acting. There’s a director who knew how to get the most out of his star.
@@lessthanbrilliant3672 Dude WTF.... i had no idea Lam has passed away :( This really shocks me....
“...but, she definitely wasn’t the quiet one in the room.” LOL
You just told my childhood story. Very waxing poetic, but in a good way:)
Dope cinematography, score, fight scenes.. pretty damn impressive for a 24 day shoot.
And Fenders opening monologue is awesome.
Cyborg is great. Havent seen Sudden Death. Also love Bloodsport and Lionheart is a tear jerker.
Cyborg is my fave JCVD flick!
Recently been upgrading my 'Dammes' to Blu-ray. Tried watching Sudden Death last night on Blu but was too tired and pissed to watch it all. Going to watch it again tonight and savour every second if it.
Cyborg is my favorite JCVD movie
This dude totally forgot Jean Claude had a 10k a day cocaine habit during street fighter.
Sudden Death, Double Impact, Kickboxer, Timecop are ma fav JCVD movies.
Wow your speech at the end, brilliant. I too like u grew up on this guy,the legend. Nothing excited me more than seeing a new JCVD film trailer hit bk in the day u know pre-internet. U never knew what a stars nxt film was really as a kid anyway until that trailer hits or u see the posters out. Still my action hero,my go to guy. His films from NRNS up until the Order Are Still held in high regard. After that some massive stdvd duds but a few lil gems. In Hell,Wake of Death. JCVD was an Awesome film and he had a lil comebk in Expendables 2 but sadly the BIG comebk hasnt happened. Id pay £100 ticket to see himin the lead on the Cinema screen again.
I love Sudden Death. Your closing was very well said. Powers Booth's spirit shows up to call you a "cocksucker" made my f*ckin' day!!! I'll be laughing at that one for the rest of my days. Back to Sudden Death, i always roll my eyes at the commentators saying something along the lines of "that was the best save ever". That was so hysterically over the top. Im new to the channel. If you havent done videos on Cobra, The Perfect Weapon, and The Taking of Beverly Hills, I'd request them.
Those were the two things I was hoping people would gravitate to. Thank you. Your comment made my day. Thanks for watching!
I would have to say that Hard target and death warrant are my two best JCVD films but you certainly make a compelling argument for cyborg and sudden death.
Those were good, although Double Team and Timecop are my ultimate favorite Jean Claude Van Damme films.
I made sure to put in two Time Cop nods. It's a film that I watched quite a lot as a kid. Double Team was on the short list for this entry, btw. Either way, great films!
I remember renting sudden death on Vhs when i was 10. It was awesome.
I too am from this era . I grew up within walking distance from a Action Video, I love so many of these kinda movies from that time . My kids (that are now teenagers) I come to share a lotta these movies with them . Life is a very funny thing .
And FWIW when I was about 8 “Fender” frighten me so bad I had to cover my eyes and look away during in most of his parts 😂😂.
One of favorite films and an awesome Powers Boothe performance was "Extreme Prejudice". He was so great!
Grew up with those cheesy action movies and I'll always love them.
BRRROOOOO !!!! It's the nicest, deepest, strongest tribute ever made !! And l couldn't agree more with you. JCVD is my youth, my afternoons catching one of his films on TV, the joy it brung, Christ!! But he's also my "nowadays" because when l got older l could finally re-watch all of his movies on DVD or streaming on demand . I'm sending your video to his fb, he must see this !!
That means a lot. Thanks, dude! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I love Cyborg, is one of thr most underrated sci-fi post Apocalyptic movie eva.
yea sudden death is prob one of his best acting/story/realism etc from van dam films
Cyborg is a classic... I never bothered with Sudden Death, Street Fighter, or Legionaire though.
Hard Target is his masterpiece.
I remember when that was filmed here in Pittsburgh... Back when the Civic Arena was called as such, still opened its' roof, and obviously before it was torn down.
I'm with you there my friend👏✊ I used to rent a different video every night for years and JC was always a good watch.
R.I.P. Powers Boothe!! ❤️🙏
you speak my gospel young lad. keep up the good word and ALL HAIL JCVD!
Sudden Death is a great movie. One of Van Damme's best.
Cyborg is my favorite of JCVD but I think I love them all , anyone like Wake of Death ? and I'm subscribed now because of Cyborg and good video
Mike Dlc ...Wake of Death was reallyy good! I consider it one of his best and underrated movies he made!
Remember he (the bad guy) was War Child in Point Break LOL
J C V D !!!! He was, He is and IS to come!!!!!
Van Damme is the reason I got my blackbelt in Karate
I've seen neither but this video was wonderful.
Sudden Death and Time Cop were JCVD's best movies.
That was a great video.
Btw, best JCVD movie.... HARD TARGET!
Cyborg and lionhart are my favorite from him hands down
Phaze 29 cyborg is so underrated
@@zacharygreene1979 man thank u.ive always said that
You and I my friend are of the same generation and cyborg was definitely an old favourite.
Sadly I still pine for those good old days. How can I not when video stores don't exist anymore. At least where I'm from. My nostalgia trigger is that plastic smell of VHS tapes you cop a whiff of when opening the case.
I agree Cyborg Is a good movie. Felt dark gritty. Fender was Scary as hell in the 90s
I found both of these in a DVD 3 movie set, with one other Van Dame movie. They're all good.
I loved sudden death...watched it many times growing up
Love the opening rock music!
FUCK YEAH with the nod to Jesus Christ Superstar bro
"the john wick franchise is the best action series we've had in the last 20 years" - um, HELLO? The Raid 1 and 2 would like a word with you.
Bro I watched cyborg about 3 weeks ago. There was a amazing movie buried in there. Or at least the skeleton of one 🤔 edit:Street Fighter was a love gift by Raul Julia rip 😍😭❤ as a legacy for his children edit edit: JoBlo I just finished your video. Now tell me why I'm both aroused and crying 🤔
the production of the movie is a mess. it was an abortion of the production of a 'masters of the universe' sequel and some other fragments. shot on a shit budget with a shit script by really shlock of a director. the movie was eventually edited in part by van damme.
Cyborg was one of my favorites as a kid
All Vandammes movies are brilliant, you know what you are getting into. he spent more than 20 years doing 1 or 2 movies per year involving kicking people in the head, he puts other actors to shame i think.
You trying to squeeze Orange juice out of potatoes with this one.
Die Hard may have Hans Gruber..... But Sudden Death at least has one of the bad guys playing DOOM on a laptop :D
What do you think of the (official) Universal Soldier series? The last few movies have showed the Luc Deveraux character to be a broken mess, to the point where he becomes the "bad guy".
But what if I shared with you a story concept of mine, that ties together all of the past movies, including Universal Soldier: The Return? (Personal favourite of mine)
Well here is my reddit post, with the "back-of-the-box" synopsis and basic storyline, for my fan story for "Universal Soldier: Retribution" >> www.reddit.com/r/movieideas/comments/bsus1o/universal_soldier_retribution/
Please tell me what you think of this story and if it could be another Van Damme gem in your eyes.
Thanks!
Damn, I need to watch Sudden Death again.
That spirit scene is so funny )))
Sudden Death is probably his most well rounded, 'best', movie, It's only really beaten by Hard Target for it's Fuck Yeah! factor.
I always liked Sudden Death, but i will re-watch Cyborg. I will most likely like it.
i recently have been come with cyborg. it's such a fever dream of a movie. check out nemesis by the same director albert pyun.
also have been really loving sudden death. Peter Hayms also did a really good buddy cop movie called 'running scared.' it's a bit more comedic but it has a similar vibe action and style wise.
Can't believe you didn't reference Cy Tolliver, or at least have a clip. He had awesome lines
His spirit came out of the Black Hills (Near Deadwood) and called everyone a cock sucker. That was the reference.
Only person in the theater opening night Cyborg is still a great movie!
I always have the most feels at the end of Lion-heart ... when the French Agents let him go :( plus that end-boss was epic, he only won on purely random comeback rage.
Sudden death is one of my favorites JCVD movies.
John Wick for President - Who's gonna stop him?!
Ian Mcshane will always be the mulleted antiques dealer Lovejoy to me lol
Cyborg is my favorite Van Damme movie.
Great video! What song is that at the end?
"Come and go with me to this land" from an X-Files episode in the 6th season.
What's the name of the one with Dennis Rodman? It was a classic.
Sudden Death was such a good movie!
I'm surprised you didn't mention how Cyborg originally started out its life as a sequel to Masters of the Universe, still, good vid :)
Big JCVD fan. Never cared for cyborg, but do like Sudden Death. Another sleeper that I really like though is Maximum Risk, probably my favorite of his after Timecop.
and black eagle...
well I am still waiting for someone to make me a t shirt with him doing those splits on the barrels tossing knives... @james robinson
You grew up in the same manner as I...
The back story of the production of cyborg is very interesting. Considering the circumstances it is a very good action movie.
Beautiful
John Wick 4 has already been confirmed.
So fucking awesome
my favorite action hero!!!!
Sudden Death aka Die Hard in a Hockey Rink.
I’m partial to Lionheart and Timecop in JCVD’s background
