I like to explain what Journey to the West is by comparing it to the stories of King Arthur. That's the kind of age and cultural significance of the story.

Journey to the West Sun Wukong The monkey King this game is theorized to actually be about the six-eared macaque. The fake monkey King at least that's what I've read don't quote me on that.
I believe don't quote me on this Eastern dragons in Japan can fly but it's not flying it's more like stepping. They create clouds underneath their feet in order to walk on the air so it's not much flying it's more like walking on air to get to point A to point B very quickly.
I believe don't quote me on this all Eastern dragons can do this very same thing by creating and manipulating water Eastern dragons manipulate water Western dragons are more fire-based. Because water is one of the most essential elements dragons in eastern culture bring rain crops prosperity for fertility renewal depending on the dragon's scales and color.
Dragons are considered Kings of the oceans every dragon is essentially a king in some form or fashion. And they have underwater palaces according to Eastern mythology and that's how Sun Wukong managed to get his staff.
His staff is literally made out of a dragon's bone that he earned from one of the Dragon Kings.
If you want to learn more about this then you should react to overly sarcastic productions of journey to the West.
Yall should show them Nioh and Ninja Gaiden. I've read those were an inspiration to this game. Also the original trailer was really good to.
