    a friend of mine had a 1991 old town 14.7 foot canoe laying in their back yard that they gave me. Other than the wicker on the seats being broken it's as good as new! Most canoe users use seats with backs anyways so that was no issue for me. I sent the Vin to old town and they mailed me a certificate of origin for free, for a 30 year old boat! Highly trustworthy company with high quality products. They do live up to the "heirloom" mantle.

    I’m now part of the family! Just bought the old town Saranac 146! Love the history and the commitment to excellence. The fact that these historic canoes are still in good shape is a testament to the quality of construction

    I have been an avid Old Town Canoe paddler for about twenty years and still love these canoes. Thank you for the great craftsmanship that allows us to recreate for decades.

    I have a Royalex Tripper 172. Best wilderness canoe ever. Wish they still made them!

    Always proud to have my Old Town canoes. The history is a great story. I'm staying firmly in the canoe side after trying all sorts of kayaks...but it's great the company does well. Paddle on.

    That's some pretty cool history! Our history was built in the back bone of canoes! So cool! Ive been really getting pretty hard core into canoeing my old town guide 147. Such a solid canoe!

      Mine put me back on the water after 19 years. Two back surgeries precluded my ability to sit in my SOT over 30 min. I can go 8 hours straight in my Sportsman 120 with no issues.

    I love my solo sportsman. I would love to see old town design a boat that's a canoe/driftboat hybrid. A boat you could row (with oars), mount a motor, and fit 2 or 3 people in, while still remaining trailerless. Kind of like the square stern you have now just wider.

      Thanks for the great ideas! The Discovery 133 may check all of those boxes for you. It has three seats, is 40" wide, comes with oar locks, and is able to mount a small trolling motor or outboard with our Motor Mount.

      Hi, Randy - we're producing the Sportsman PDL 120s on a regular basis. Demand is incredibly high for many of our kayaks at this time. Use our dealer locator on our website to find dealers in your region, or online retailer who ship direct to you, who may have some in inventory. Many take pre-orders, too. Thanks for your interest!

    Will Royalex make a comeback?

  • @careyrobson5722
    @careyrobson5722 Před 3 měsíci +1

    How a history of Old Town could ignore a 40 year Royalex domination is beyond me. There is nothing innovating about todays toys.
