- Hey Guys, I have a very special guest to help with this weeks first impressions! My sister flew down from Seattle over the weekend to play, hang out and get a hair makeover! Originally her hair had several shades of blonde brown and violet going on, so we were pretty amazed by the beautiful results. Lol at the very beginning of the video I was like wow they look nothing alike, then watching more I was like okay no they look a lot alike, and then after the makeup I was like.... okay they're the same person. haha

I don't know why there are so may comments saying Tati made her sister a clone of herself. They're sisters. They do look alike lol. Tati colored her sister's hair a much more reddish tone than her own.
Also, she had dark roots, so she naturally has a hair color that is close to Tati's. Sure, they do look alike, but they are sisters! For a family event, of course they'd both go for natural make up and that's what makes them look so similar, but that doesn't mean that Tati's making a clone of herself.

Once my aunt dyed her hair with boxed color before work in the morning, she expected it to be her normal blonde. It was very early and she was trying not to wake anyone in the house so the lights were off... After she washed it and turned on the lights she found that she had dyed her hair black!!! The company had placed the wrong color in the box. So now I always say watch your hair when you dye it!!! Your sister looks great btw!!!
Paige Goodman That happened to me in HS, my mom was convinced I had gone behind her back and dyed my hair black. It turns out the company had just put the wrong bottle in the box.
It may not be the company. I once knew some girls who thought it was fun to switch the colors in the store. So ALWAYS check if the box is sealed. If not, check the tube to make sure it is the right color.
That almost happened to me! I always check the dye number of the tube with the box now!
Kim Melott you are so right! More than likely that is what happened. I'm 35 and have been dying my hair myself since I was 14, and back then I knew of girls my age that would switch the colors in boxes. To this day, when i buy my hair dye, I still check to make sure the tape/seal on the box has Not been picked and opened, and if by chance it's the last box left and it has clearly been opened then I look inside to make sure it's the right color before I buy it. I have been kinda freaked out all these years bc of that!
Oh noooo. This would be really upset me, specially if the blonde dyes is in the darker dyes box since I'm Asian and blonde do not look good on me, I'll either have to call in sick that day or have to wrap my hair up like the middle eastern or the Indian woman.

Lucy Y You could always try Semi-Permanent! That's what I did. It really gives you a great idea of if you're really going to like it but it lasts 2 or 3 weeks instead of being a permanent color like the one she used in this :) Manic Panic or Punky Color are good options
Me too, alway wanted to try the purple, but chicken out. I might try the semicoloring which only last for a few weeks, that's not so bad.
+Lucy Y purple is one of the hardest colors to get fully out of your hair, but it's hair, it grows back :). if you really want to, just try it! there are way to get it out enough to dye with a natural color.
I've had silver, magenta, pink, red, orange and all of them I've enjoyed!
Leslie Parrish NK Tr I am trying to grow my hair after having like cut it super short so im like I want to do it but if it doesn't work I don't want to cut my hair and start over. But the semi permanent sounds interesting. As long as it doesn't like damage anything.
+Lucy Y Yeah, your hair usually grow 1-2 inches every month, my hair grown fast, so I don't really have problem trying out new colors, but since my hair is dark brown I might have to bleach it first in order for the color to shown up and I'm not willing to do it because it's bad for your hair. Whatever you do, just don't perm your hair, I did my 20 years ago and that was the biggest mistake of my life, my hair is ruin forever. I used to be able to use any kind of shampoo + conditioner and my hair was just beautiful and healthy without using anything else, now is a total opposite :(

I thought the same! I felt the beautiful brown hair color made her look older as well...I think a light brown (i dont dye my hair, so i cant be specific which shade of light brown hair colors would suit her) would of balanced her age. It was a great and fun video, though!

Can you make more of this video, Tati? Nice to see make over on other people. She's such a happy person! Always smiling. Just a tip, put petroleum jelly on the skin where the dye would get in contact with like the earlobes and forehead, that way it wouldn't stain the skin. Well unless the product you would be using comes off easily or is skin-friendly then probably it's ok to let it stay on your skin.

I actually thought her original hair color was the "after!" It looked very cool. The hair color was great on her, she's so pretty, wit hose killer dimples. And after her makeup, she looked like Tati 2.0! You created your own twin. Lovely video of two sisters who clearly adore each other. Fun!

You did a great job! The end result was beautiful, and I don't think she looks older with darker hair at all. The reddish brown brings out her eye colour and looks great with her complexion. :)

I love how the hair color came up. It's not really even, but I personally like it better that way, when there are different shades going on [it looks amazing in the sun light, then you can actually see them all].
Some folks have said it doesn't look like one even color, so I figured I'd explain. For anyone wondering, here's why: The process of applying color to the regrowth area first, then applying the remaining product to the midshaft and ends is GENERALLY correct, but not always the preferred method of application. The reason it looks patchy, or uneven, is due to a couple different reasons. #1: when you are applying color over hair that has already been lightened, it needs to be pre-filled, otherwise, the color won't appear as vibrant, even, and the same tone. It will look like a lighter color even though the same shade was used. (It will also fade off these areas much quicker.) #2: she mixed a gloss in with the remaining product (which would have already ended up a lighter shade due to the first explanation above). This gloss basically "diluted" the color's effectiveness to cover and penatrate the blonde sections of hair. This is why the regrowth (root) area looks so much darker and more pigmented than other areas of her hair.
(This kind of color application is best suited for someone whose hair is already that shade, but it has grown out and needs to be freshened up. In this case, you would apply the color to the regrowth area and then go back and apply the remaining color (mixed with the gloss to create a glaze) on the midshaft and ends to freshened it up and get rid of dullness.)

OMG I AM OBSESSED WITH THE COLOR YOU DID YOUR SISTERS HAIR! It turned out AMAZING! It really brought out her eyes and everything with that color. And after you did her makeup you two looked SO similar! She was a great sport too :) I say you could do that color next and you two could be almost twins! Hahaa love you Tati
To people saying she did her makeup the same and made her look the same:
1) obviously, they're sisters, so they'll look very similar if hair color is similar. Before their hair was so different that it didn't show as obviously.
2) Of course, Tati did her makeup similarly. MUA's do they're own makeup in a style they're best at, they practice and perfect it on themselves, and will be most comfortable doing.
Be realistic here.

It looks like the color just didn't apply to some places. Thankfully it worked out on the colors she already had, but if it can't take over blonde, that's pretty scary. I could see how that could turn out really badly. It looks great on her, she's lucky.

Hi Tati! I liked this video format, but I wish you would have been more up front about the fact that this is an ad, rather than labelling it a first impressions. Although you demo-ed the product, you already presented it as a "hot" product at the beginning of the video!

Did you read her intro? She states quite clearly that Sassoon sent her the product.
Do you think Tati lied about liking the results? Do you think the product actually harmed her sister? If she states up front that the vendor sent her the product, if she followed the directions and got good results-and her sister liked the results-is there a reason she shouldn't tell her audience about it? I appreciated it; maybe other people did, too. Tati has built up a reputation over time. I don't think she would jeopardize it by lying about a single hair product, but you seem to imply that she can't be trusted to be honest, even about her own sister's hair. What if the experiment had failed and the results were terrible? Do you think she would smile and lie on camera, and say it was great? Or would she tell the vendor it was a fail, and deep-six the video? I'm honestly interested in your answer.
Well from a professional stand point its a possibility she fluffed up some of the ratings for this product .. Not to call her a liar but I don't think the told the complete truth which is ok because she's basically advertising for them... I am a cosmetologist and I could see the color inconsistency throughout the hair and how the process was actually harming her sisters hair. It had no life, no healthy sheen, no movability.. It was limp and over processed. As for her reputation it shouldn't damage because she did claim there was a partnership involved. I am only looking from a professionals view and seen a ton of things done wrong. I wouldn't professionally suggest this product or process for anyone one. I think she should tell people to educate them selves on these type of box hair products before trying them.. Some boxed dyes are great they just have to be researched properly. But I do think this particular video was in bad tatse if she were to claim it as a first impression or honest review because clearly it wasn't . I'm not knocking her either because she's has bills to pay.
I agree with the youtuber above^. as a cosmetologist... I cringed during this whole video. and the end result was just as I predicted, splotchy, uneven color with super dark roots. Tati said that the color was super even - which is a flat out lie. we can all see that it's not. I barely ever comment on videos... ESPECIALLY give a harsh comment. but I hope she's happy with all the money she got from this. and I hope she's happy with all the horrible future at-home dye jobs that are about to happen because of this video. ugh, still cringing... I foresee so many color corrections $$$$$$ lol
