STORY TIME (please read it )
Hwang Chi Yeol debuted in 2007, releasing two albums and appearing in some TV and radio shows for about a year, but his career came to a halt because his management company closed. After that he was forced to stop his activities and worked as a vocal coach, teaching idol bands including Infinite, After School, Lovelyz, NU'EST, and Hello Venus. After living as a nameless singer for 9 years he decided to appear in the show I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE (every singer can appear only once) and that's when his life started to take a turn . Many people started showing interes in him and he was invited in another show (Immortal Song 2) wich made him really famous in korea . In his 3rd apparence (the theme of the episode was family ) on the show he sang Father dedicated to his father who had suffered from cancer and who didn't want him to do music and GUESS WHAT he won the trophy
Because of fame he gained from Immortal Song he was invited in I am a singer China , which not only grew his popularity but made him one of the most loved artists in China
He then in 2017 released A daily song which became a major hit selling 2.500.000 copies only in Korea
His journey was a roller coster and he had to overcome many hardships but it was worth it because now he's one of the BRIGHTEST STARS IN THE SKY

Budakhel started when they jam together at backstage of a show while waiting for their turns. They are from different singing competition. Bugoy is from Pinoy Dream Academy, Michael P. is from X factor Philippines where KZ is the champion. While Daryl is from the Voice Philippines.
This song was originally in English by Gary V. and Zsa Zsa Padilla 'Could We' and made into Filipino by Gary V and Regine Velasquez. As a commoner, this song was already hard. Katrina and Daryl made it harder way, way more! Still my favorite by Gary and Regine's!

Bugoy Drilon - PDA Season 2 (Pinoy Dream Academy) 2008;
Daryl Ong - The Voice Philippines Season 2 - 2014, APL DeAp of the Black Eyed Peas as his coach;
Michael Pangilinan - X Factor Philippines Lone Season 2011, were KZ Tandingan was the Grand Winner.
BUDAKHEL was formed when they guested at the noontime variety show called It's Showtime, when one of the hosts Vice Ganda called them BuDaKhel a combination of their names and the rest is history.
Speaking of Budakhel, if you go in any of their YT channels and check out their jamming sessions, can't go wrong. Guys, did you wonder why there are so many great singers here in the Philippines, like Morissette, KZ or Katrina and all other singers from today. That's because way before them, there are already a lot of great singers here that have been passed from generations to generations. From whom they saw them as a guide or some sort of a vocal coach. Warning: long post! :) This video you watched is the BTS-style one on Katrina's channel while the Official Music Video is on Daryl's. Daryl is now a budding record producer and is hands-on with the mixing/engineering, video conceptualization/production, vocal arrangements, etc for his cover/original song productions. But even before this new venture, his music videos have already been polished as he always used the services of a professional videographer. He has actually recently produced a track for a pop/folk artist - the song is currently multi-nominated by a legit local music awards-giving body.
This MULI cover (severely underrated, IMO) is Daryl's and Kat's homage to their ultimate idols - Gary and Regine. You can feel (and see) the love with the amount of effort they've put into this - the live instrumentations by that orchestra (half?) were done in Los Angeles USA led by Mike Shapiro (LA-based percussionist and Kat's fiance), main musical arrangement done in the Philippines by Bobby Velasco. Those harmonizing runs (Daryl loves arranging them vocals) - I've read Kat's exasperated FB post when they were recording this as she (of all people!) was challenged by them.
This video (and the work put into it) is also a 'watershed', thusly:
1) This is the first work (for both Daryl and Kat) with dope musical arranger Bobby Velasco - who'll figure in more of their covers after, together and separately - notably, Daryl's (and Kyla's) cover of SWV's *'WEAK'* (pls react to this). On Daryl Ong Official.
I think that Bobby is also mentoring Daryl in sound engineering. If I'm not mistaken.
2) Kat's videos after this have become more polished - visually (vocals already there, of course) - and conceptualized
3) Kat/Mike and Daryl/his GF Dea, along with three other artists, are now a close-knit group of friends; and tangentially, Daryl's group with Khel, Bugoy and company.
Btw, Daryl and Kat have a cover of *'SUNLIGHT'* (on Kat's channel) by the Brazilian jazz singer Kevyn Lettau, whom Mike Shapiro used to be in a band with. You might want to take a look at that, too. :)
Daryl is really talented as he is also a great animator -- his professional job prior to his singing carreer.

As a Filipino, I can surely say that you're just still scratching on the edges of the tip of the iceberg of Filipino musicians, artists, and singers, and on the various genres in the Philippine music scene and industry.
You still haven't even yet experienced the likes of Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Lea Salonga, and you still haven't heard viral and common amateur Filipino singers, common Filipinos singing, Filipino singers auditioning and joining international talent and or music competitions, and the culture of Filipino music and karaoke as an integral part in the Philippine society.
Music is really a part of Filipino life, culture, and society since we're young. It's common and even normal for Filipinos to sing while taking a bath or washing the dishes at home, whether you're an amateur, pro, noob, young, mature, adult, old, a total beginner, an expert, or even tone deaf. Most and almost all, if not all Filipinos, even they're not professionally into music, didn't have formal music training or education, or are not even good in performing, producing, composing, arranging, mixing, remixing, or creating music, do at least have some to a lot of love, appreciation, or value for music in their lives with its one or few to more various functions, importance, significance, and uses as an art form. Most and almost all, if not all Filipinos are at the very least passionate in music or in some kind, type, style, era, or genre of music.
Filipinos and music are really inseparable.
Aside from music, the triple Bs are also integral in Filipino culture and society, and these are the the sports of boxing and basketball, and the culture and industry of beauty pageants and other forms of competitive beauty. Texting, shopping and shopping malls, Twitter, and the utilization, consumption, and long use of the Internet and social media are also part of the Philippine culture and society (and even if the Internet quality, speed, and connection in the Philippines is not one of the best in the world).
