The Bengals bet on Trey and believed in him when frankly Trey did not believe in himself as much. It is a fair deal. Trey showed out last year but what if Trey sucks this year or gets injured? The Bengals are if nothing consistent. If you sign a contract with them they WILL hold you to it and they will typically keep you even if you suck. PS Trey knew that going in. Who Dey!
It has nothing to do with Cincy being cheap. The NFLPA actually has a rule that prevents Cincy from negotiations with Hendrickson until 2025 because he just singed a new deal. It has to be effective for 1 year before they can do it again. The rule is a players rule in the CBA.
They can negotiate they just can’t sign a deal until like august.

Just toss him some extra in "bonus" money to make up some ground. Don't think it hurts the cap, and would show good faith to Treys camp that they do value him, even tho his agent gooched him a bit on this deal 🤷🏼

What nobody is mentioning is that the Bengals hands are tied right now. They cannot renegotiate until a year passes from where he signed his extension. This is a league rule. Trey's agent obviously was either ignorant of that or he wanted to try to force MB to trade him by going public which is not a smart move. MB will not be bullied, especially when he holds all of the cards. I am sure that the team will meet him at least half way when the time comes.
Its funny how this show consistently says Joe Burrow is always injured. "Can he stay Healthy". I didn't realize having your appendix out makes you injury prone. Pullng a calf and playing through it, makes you an injury risk. I guess you need a hook to stay relevant. They fail to mention how often Lamar is injured, Deshaun is injured.

I feel for the guy, but they cannot even restructure the deal until it passes the 12-month mark. If this was a priority for him, then his representation fumbled the bag during extension talks.
Bengals management are underrated in their eye for undervalued talent and how shrewd they can be. Often players get frustrated when they find out who won the deal but they thought it was a fair or at least the best deal available when they signed it.
