Introduction to Matrix Operations

Hello everyone,
Matrices are extremely useful in many areas of mathematics and other similar fields. Today, we see what a matrix actually is, and why we care so much about it. But of course, we must start from the basics, so first we start with the simple operations such as addition and subtraction, and then move on to rules for matrix multiplication. We then introduce the identity matrix, and the determinant, both of which will help us to understand what an inverse matrix does (hint: there is one operation that we have not mentioned yet!). We will compute higher order inverses in another video, and then move on to eigenvalues and eigenvectors, which are also known as the jewels of a matrix- this shows how important they truly are. But more on all of that later... let us focus on an introduction to matrices first and then we will get there.
