The Bourne Identity Trailer - Directed by Doug Liman and starring Matt Damon Franka Potente Chris Cooper Clive Owen and Brian Cox Wounded to the brink of death and suffering from amnesia, Jason Bourne is rescued at sea by a fisherman. Bourne is my most favorite action series! It all started when I saw this on tv back in 2016 and I got hooked into it. I became a huge fan of Matt Damon ever since! Love this series and Matt! 💗
Franka Potente and Matt Damon are spot on in this film.... one of the best films of the last 20 years as well... not many American/European crossovers are that good but this hit the nail on the head.... belting film
I loved the scene near the end of the movie when Bourne is on about the 6th floor of an apartment building, on the stairwell looking all the way down to the first floor, and he pushes a dead man's body over the railing, then grabs onto the body, and they both fall 6 stories down. And Bourne survives with just a scrape. How realistic. This scene really made the movie.

holy crap this trailer REALLY undersells this movie, the plotline is very compelling, the cinematography is excellent, and the action is top-notch. this trailer showcases literally nothing good about this movie... doesn't the director get to provide input for the trailer? christ. great movie solid 9/10 go watch it before you judge it by this cruddy trailer.

Traditionally, the people who make the film have nothing to do with the trailer. It’s all the marketing team from the studio. The goal is to get butts in theatre seats, and sometimes that means a lot is missed or too much is revealed.

I've only just seen this film for the first time and it's 2022. Loved it. Can't wait to watch Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum.

Honestly, I remember when trailers used to sound like this. It was so annoying. The first trailer I saw without a narrator was "Fight Club", it felt so much better. In a few years everyone started doing that. I don't know who did it first, but Fight Club was the first I remember.

The music from the last scene of "Mercury Falling" (1998) when the choper land on top of the building, and the killer chase scene near stairs outside, after the 1st nerd is killed in the streets in full day light, was used to create the very recognisable sound track of The Bourne Identity, in 2002 and reused in Bourne Legacy and all of the Bourne instalment.
The sound track completely identify the movie. You hear the first 3 notes and you are in the atmosphere of the Bourne Identity.
The mercury code tema and subject is actually very close to the subject of the Bourne serie. Treason, internal secrets, dirty business, doubtful moral.
Literally the trailer is so shite, please do never watch this sad excuse of a trailer before watching the movie. The trailer, with all of the action scenes and American Movie Guy voice drama, makes it seem like a sort of Vin Diesel/Jason Statham movie, which it is not.
Jason Bourne is an extremely intelligent individual that cannot remember his past, but there are basic instincts and knowledge drilled into him, and together with brilliant planning and the required skills, he goes about surviving and hiding from the government in the most spectacular way-- by being so normal that nobody notices him. Bourne fits in because he'd draw attention if he stood out. But the trailer makes it seem like he's just a flashy James Bond, but he's anything but that.
If anything, the trailer is the exact opposite of the movie.

It's funny now how movie trailers have very little, if any, voice overs in their trailers, but before they used to have way too much. I was riding in a van with my cousins on the way to see Mt. Saint Helens, and had enough time to watch the first two movies.

so...i just saw the whole movie. Trailer saved me rental fee.
I always find it interesting when trailers use takes and scenes that aren't even in the movie. The scene where Jason asks Marie to drive him to Paris happens in a different location with different dialogue than this trailer shows. The scene in the movie has more nuance and depth. The scene of him lighting his passport on fire in this trailer never happens in the movie.

In The Bourne Identity it's playing during the car chase with the girl.
In Collateral it's played as they're walking through the nightclub.

I dare say he was in his prime around these late 90/early 00 years. He was involved in a lot of things around that time. Swordfish is another period era flick that he did most of the soundtrack for, good movie if you liked this and Collateral.
