No, the point is that Divergents are quicker to realize the sim isn't real, therefore they're quicker to get out because they can refuse to play along and force themselves awake
No, it's not that they're quicker, it's that normally people can't realize it isn't real at all, only Divergents can
You guys are annoying
And the non-divergent literally can't problem solve in ways that aren't like their faction --four (who has the simulation awareness but isn't divergent, and chose Dauntless when he had NO aptitude for it) always focuses on "forgetting himself" or "helping the other person" not on being brave...
Actually, in the books Four was 18 and Tris was 16 and there was a funny moment where Tris said they couldn't date coz of the "whopping 2-year difference" haha. So, movie wise, Four and Tris's characters are only 2 years apart which doesn't make their relationship weird lol.
He started out from the opening shittin on everything he saw. Had to turn it off, which is a shame because no one does these movies.

Tobias is 18 in the first movie/book and he chose "four" as his name bc he only had 4 fears, making him like a legend
The 2010s really had Dystopian Teen Dramas as the Flavour du jour.
Fyi, Theo James (who plays Tobias/Four) was in his mid-twenties here, his character is between 18 and 22 I believe. And yes, the actor's voice actually is pretty deep 😅 (and there were definitely teen girls fangirling over him when this came out)
Also, this is the best movie from the three. It just goes downhill from here

@@RivalReacts you can, but it's definitely worse. There was even supposed to be another movie and a TV show which got canceled. The ending was just weird and the books are definitely better than the movies, but they just remain the dollar store version of The Hunger Games

I don't really blame them either tbh - even though I wasn't one of them he's pretty attractive
So apparently, a lot of autistics really resonate with the divergent group, because it kind of goes into the way society treats autistics, but also with a dystopian twist. I think it's interesting in the sense of eugenics and how society is somewhat afraid of anything different or any mind that questions the system. As someone who is autistic (also in the category of neurodivergent), I do relate to the concept of divergent people in these movies. It is very interesting to watch.
I actually like this idea as well and I am autistic lol. Like the way most characters accept the way things are and make do with what they have is the way societies work. Obviously even autistic people (and divergents) do as well, to an extent. But to me it’s quite symbolic.
I wonder if it’s also fans of certain kinds of sci fi? At least I feel as though I’ve read stories with similar themes and setups.

Fun Fact: in the books after Tris finds out Four’s name she hardly ever calls him that again. She usually calls him Tobias
Interesting fact the guy who plays Trices brother Caleb, Anzel Algert played her love interest in the fault in our stars. And the guy who plays Trices bully Miles Teller also played her love interest in the spectacular now. And you can imagine how weird it is seeing both of them in the same movie and one them beating the crap out of her.
The actress who plays Tori, the tattoo artist girl from Dauntless who did Trish's Test was in a show called Nikita, I would recommend it it's a pretty good show. It's about this girl-Nikita, played by that actress and she is fighting against a secret government agency who trains young boys and girls how to be assassins and spies. She was trained in it and after they killed someone important to her she decided to turn against them and try to take them down.

There were talks of a fourth film and a Spinoff TV series, which were both cancelled as the last film in the series was a not a critical nor box office success.

Dauntless don't really believe in dying from old age, so they typically jump off the same ridge Al unalived himself on- midsommer style.
Also there is a fourth book...called Four.. That is this book from Tobias' perspective. I actually liked it better than book 2 and 3

Divergent is not for everyone, clearly. For a novel adaptation into a movie, it's meh, they did what they could, better than others, but could be way worse. Usually, I like the movie versions more, but not this time, Veronica Roth deserved better than that!
If you like reading, I recommend reading the novels, and maybe even Four.
And even as someone who likes the books and the movies, I can tell you, if you didn't like the first one, most likely you'll think each one is exponentially worse than the previous one. Just keeping up with the story is one more headache and a half each time.

These 2 actors are 6 years apart but 31 and 37 then movie characters are only 2-4 not much of a difference. Also not really brain size it’s that she thinks in more than one way so she can control simulations. Like lucid dreams. Non divergents are unaware if when they are in the fears simulations. You can’t control what you feel is real and concrete.
This seems like if an AI program was given every dystopian YA novel and this is what it spit out.

the first book and first movie are alright. the subsequent books and movies... not so much. but i did enjoy reading the books as a teen. i guess it was just difficult for it to translate into movies

Ps: the 2.movie of it is much better, the best of it all (for me This beginning one too together with the 2und one), the 3rd is good too.
The their movie finished in the middle, there you must read in the book for know the real end of the story.
Plus,there gives a spezial book too about 4s Background story, how it was for him in dauntless, After that you will understand all better.

The romance between Four and Trice is so bad and so forced. Four just says every cheesy sappy line all these teenage girl's want to hear. They have nothing in common and no personality traits to bounce off of. And Trice is a divergent and is supposed to have more than one personality trait.

DIvergent is the absolute worst, I'm sorry. Really bad copy of the hunger games x Harry Potter and it shows that the book was written over winter break. So many plotholes, that it's infuriating. The movies are fun for what they are, but it's not that brilliant book that people sometimes make it out to be.
