I love how Grandma said "Whats wrong with it, Right Foot?" ROFL. Like she knows her boy.
“What did you do to it? …. Right foot, huh?” Grandma Lolly knows her sons.😂
"That one's broken... oh, it's beat up bad. What'd you do to it? Right foot, huh?" = Mom rubbing it in. CLASSIC! 🤣🤣🤣
Hearing your son singing as he came in the garage grew a HUGE smile across my mug.
Song?
@@TheDanielsanti Pauls youngest son was coming into the shop singing. way cool.

Thank you Paul
Paul, there may have been some Quagga Mussels in that front axle. I think that would explain the water in the differential.
😂😅🤣
'Scene cuts to a red eyed pot belly Wildlife officer making a beeline down Paul's driveway at speed'
I’m blaming it on quagga mussels. They are evil you know.
😂😂😂
UnLaWfuL TraNsPortaTioN oF InVasIvE SpeCieS! 😅
That proud papa's smile at his singing walking into the shop. Perfection.
Don't know why, but the FF footage of the hammering is so hypnotic and soothing. Makes me wanna sit back with a lemonade and chill.
Hope we get to ride along for the Elk. Good luck gentlemen!!
Not so much for me, thank you.
Second that. Caught a few sneak peeks of horns from prior hunts in the shop
I’ve got a gun collection, but I don’t hunt.
I think it would be very interesting. My son lives in Missoula, Montana and was telling me yesterday how cheap it is to get tags for elk and wolf and everything out there.
We are in Central western Illinois where we grow the great big corn, fed white tail people spend big money to come here and hunt in our cornfields. You don’t get to load up on tags in Illinois.
Good morning everybody and thumbs UP to Fab Rats! 👍
@@JanelleVocate-Ames Gooooood morning Janelle!
Fab Rats are so good at building vehicles, because they're so good at breaking them! With Landon taking out engines and Paul vaporizing transmissions, no vehicle is safe!
That Toyota is what brought me to this channel. Please bring it back
Paul, you forgot to mention that those 31” Tru-tracs were probably mounted on white spoke wheels.
You guys take such joy in breaking and fixing stuff. It's just juvenile 😋
But in a fun way.
I mean you have to break it if you want to learn how to fix it. They're just learning/maintaining skills. 😂
Keeps you young 😅
Any offroader will tell you that the best memories and stories are usually created during the events surrounding broken parts on their rig. Some people collect nick nacs, other people collect great stories.🤷♂️
@@thelonewrangler1008and alot of them start off with hold my drink and watch this😂 and in Paul's case its mtn dew lol
PAUL YOU DID THAT LIKE SOME OF THE 80 YEAR OLD MASTERS I HAVE KNOWN!!!
EXPERIENCE IS WHAT SETS YOU APART,!!
It’s not boring to me. I love that kind of stuff working on trucks cars
I just wanted to give you guys a big thank you! My son and I changed out the gearing and added lockers to his 98 XJ. I don't think I would have had the confidence if I hadn't been watching Fab Rats and MORR. Once again, Thank you very much! BTW, the XJ works great!
Great job!
I think that warrants some Beaver nuggies to celebrate.
Paul, you should replace the power steering fluid reservoir. Some of those have a filter in them that get plugged and restrict fluid flow to the pump causing the pump to whine
I must say that Fab Rats is my favorite CZcamsr channel. I really look forward to watching all you do. Matt's off road is right up there with you. I'm not fortunate enough to own a 4X4 or even any vehicle right now and may not be able to afford to buy anything because I'm on SSI so I have alot of fun watching you guys. Your Awesome!!!
We think YOU’RE awesome! Thanks for watching!
I can see the subtle difference in the way Paul works on that Taco. He has a little deeper love for that truck than most.
Sign of a seasoned off-road driver. Holding an open cup in one hand while climbing a steep hill and tilting it to keep it level without even thinking about it.
I like that your episodes are longer now and very interesting and enjoyable. THANKYOU
Man, hearing Paul talk about 35” being big. So true! I remember getting 33”s on an old f150 that I had a few inches of lift in it. 302. I loved that truck, and felt like a king driving it around.
As a vintage person Paul and VWHARMAN are corect i had 35" on my DD and i was called a mud truck as that was big then and 44" was just mud only weekend truck or a 2 mile DD.
I remember if you had the old 36in Super All Track(bias) you were the king of the mtn.
35s ARE big lol
I took the 38 x 12.50 super swampers off of my 72 Chevy 3/4 ton and dropped to 35s after I got old. That was in about 2002😂
12.00-16.5 guy here.
Aluminum slots.
They were the 35's of the late 1970's
It’s not boring I watch just to see how frustrated you get that is the real entertainment
I can’t help but notice how you protect your hearing Paul at least you will still have it later on in life lol
A garbage can in the Roll back, Would keep that dash clean and it will give you a nice emergency portapotty in an emergency.
Nice to have the Taco repaired and back on the road again.
that white Tacoma is the reason I started watching this channel.
Tell you guys something there is one thing Shaun isn’t afraid of and that is work. Paul hold onto that fella.
We sure love having him in the shop!
I always thought the most important tool for a mechanic would be a wrench, but I think it might be a hammer after watching this.
Especially true if you are dealing with a lot of aftermarket parts. They often need a little help to fit.
Just remember , every tool has a hammer side
Bingo on the hammer side, don't let 'em tell you different. Even my fancy vacuum grinders and sanders are persuaders. When I think of all the money (time) I've saved not walking for a persuader of the "right" family (animal mineral vegetable)...
I am responsible. I do carry double sided spring punches with a mini head and pin punch for the small stuff.
a golden rule -- when all else fails, get a bigger hammer
Shaun you do great work man, keep it up! Thanks for the hard work guys and gals
It’s about time you upgrade your TOY! it really wasnt built for the abuse you gave it.
The look on Paul's face when water came out was great.
Hunter, there is a right of passage holding the flashlight. You can never get your feelings hurt ever again. 😊
I concur. My first vehicle when I was 16 was a 78 K5 on 31's. I saved up and bought a 2.5" superlift . I sure thought I was something.😅
You were something those were beautiful rigs that are worth alot today. Love the old 4x4s.
You were something probably a tool
@@Coolhansoloi had a 73 k5 for my first vehicle, smoked the trans and sold it for 500 bucks, bought a rusty k5 for parts for 50 bucks and another one for 1000 like 15 years ago. Now people want 5k for a clapped out one. Kicking myself for selling them.
I know! If I kept all the square bodies I've had over the years, I could retire! I miss the days of spotting some old rod sitting in someone's yard, offer $500, and be the new owner of some ol' headache. Thanks Barrett Jackson
I really miss my 72 K20. 4 inch suspension, 3 inch body lift and 38 x 12.50 super swampers. In ‘05 I upgraded to an 85😂
Early morning fabrication shenanigans. PERFECT!
Just love how Paul & Hunter Shit talk each other and have so much fun with it, Reminds me of my friends and I way back in the late 70's through the 80's boy do I miss those days, Enjoy the time you got now guys one day you'll all be old and still smack talking each other lol
When Paul wields that green hammer, it looks like he’s channeling Wreck it Ralph.
I look forward to your videos every week. You are all a great group. Missing Ben but glad he's out there making his own videos with the family.
I like following along with the builds and seeing what gets broken, the real world stuff. We all break things, I appreciate when you make a mistake and admit it, we all do it. You just don't build something and then it disappears and everything works amazing for ever after. Great job on that pinion, that was an impressive grind job.
I clicked on Matt’s Off Road Recovery and while settling back to watch I accidentally clicked on this video. Works for me!
And not a single drop of Mountain Dew was harmed during the test rip. Stellar
That rollback has been a great investment, Paul 👌 👍
That Icon flashlight is Awesome! I have 2 of them and I love how much light they put out and not to mention that the magnet is so strong that it will stick to a screw through the drywall, lol. ❤😅
Paul's face as he pulls that screw from the front housing and water comes gushing out the screw hole... 😂😂😂
Hamburger Pinion ! = Ground Round ! Let's have a lot of Elk hunting video ! Thanks for sharing !
My first 4x4 was an 82 SR5 Toyota I purchased new for $9500 in 1983, I was 22. 3" suspension lift, 2" body lift, 33" BFG Mud Terrains, stock 22R with a header. It was my daily driver and we tripped to North Carolina 4 years in a row for the Smoky Mountain Trek. Drive it down, play in the mountains for a week, then drive it home. Up here we have mud and we love mud. My toyota built up mud in the frame and finally cracked just behind the cab in 95.
Legendary; 22r.
I started watching your channel because of this truck. I was going down the rabbit hole on SAS for my 1st Gen Taco I had at the time and found you guys. Never did end up doing the SAS and sold the truck and bought an old Jeep Grand Cherokee. Still want to build a SASed 1st Gen Taco or 3rd gen 4Runner.
Get you a 4th gen. I have 2 of them with the v8. 250k miles on both of them and they just work. Much more cabin space. My brother has a 3rd gen and he wants to sell it to buy a 4th gen
@@joshuaearnheart2756 I currently have a 06 tundra with the 4.7 and I love that truck. The main reason I want a 1st Gen Taco or 3rd gen 4runner (both later versions of their respective generations) is that i have had both of them and they wheeled great, I love the way they look, and it's definitely a nostalgia thing. I would agree that the 4th gen 4runner with the V8 is a great option too. Especially for a daily driver rig.
@@ZJ_Rubicon I drive mine 25k miles a year and probably 18k are off road. Driveline is much stronger
The Tacoma is the whole reason I started watching Fab Rats. I saw it in action while helping Matt on a recovery, after that video I knew I had to subscribe and have been watching ever since. I can't wait to see what the final build looks like.
You should add fixable rubber fender flairs to help stop mud out of the cab .
YES! I’ve been saying this for years.
Yeah some big fender you can take off for nice days. something like mat has for the morvair.
I'm glad you got the Taco fixed in time to go hunting. Loved the smile on Hunter's face when you lit up the tired going out to test the 4wheel drive. Can't wait to see what you do with the Jeepster. I've been waiting a long while to see it. Just a shout out from eastern Oregon. Good luck hunting to both of you.
1:52 you know what you need now that your dream shop is about complete… a below ground pit that makes it easier for the kids to wash the underside of the trucks before they come in the shop 😂
I would love to see, a whole video of elk hunting. Might just be me. But i love the country you get to be in.
the worst thing about those armored diff covers is they arent designed to throw oil on the ring gear like the factory ones are.
Gale Banks proved it!
Unless it’s from Banks
6 a.m. Fab Rat video - thank you 🤘🏻
As a chef one of my speciality sandwiches was a Blackened buffalo chicken I used Onion rings instead of regular onions on, bacon and smothered in a Provolone or Gouda Cheese with lettuce & tomato on a Soft Ciabatta Roll when available or Onion Roll , tell Hunter to give this to his Chef and They can call it The Full Hunter, my name is Monte so when I did it, it was called The Full Monte
"Look on the bright side" Paul and Hunter's love story.
Sean is great. It’s fun seeing more of him and how he’s loosened up on camera. When is that goatee gonna make a return though?
Awesome videos, Always a great day when a fabrats video drops!!
Grayson gets that humming/singing from his mom 😂😂cause you hear her all the time doing it lol
Climbing Hills and drinking a mountain Dew life don't get no better .
Before they started selling taller tires we would purchase old military 40 inch tires for our off road rigs
Paul is like every fans enter boyhood mindset, leave rubber at every takeoff
The taco probably had a Quagga mussel get in the front end. That's how you wreck a pinion.
We all love grandma Lolly.
Thanks for the longer video
With the upgrade to come, it will be a great addition to your fleet!
Paul is trying to talk the work done. Shawn does the work.
Taco was the reason I started watching
Is it just me? Or has anyone else noticed that things didn’t break as much before Hunter showed up. 😂
Awesome work Paul. I can’t wait to see the 1 tons and LS conversion happen. Keep it up all.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
All Toyota build series !
Build it and we will come!
Back in college, the sports car club would have a “broken parts” party each semester. Paul would have taken the prize every time.
Great job nice to see Taco up and running again great job Sean Paul and the Gang
"That was a bust" Curious, surely they have to pay for you driving out to recover them, is there a discounted rate for the wasting of your time or the standard recovery fee? Seems to happen a bit to Matt as well..
I think CZcams subs and clicking the like button pays the bill. I watch Casey LaDelle, he has said that before.
Yes, we grew up with 31" Armstrong Trutrac's on our '73 FJ55 Land Cruiser and my dad's buddies used 31" Desert Dogs on their '73 Jeep CJ5's with the 304v8 engines.
Cool times !!!
You know the test was successful when Paul crawled up that hill without even sloshing his Icy Cold Fountain Dew. 😉😉
thanks for bringing us along on your front axle and pinion rebuild and the test drive next will be your hunting trip 👍 and the great experience thanks for bringing us along on this videos 📹 keep making great videos 📹 and sharing your knowledge 😀 😊
Save all those broken parts and use them as a railing for your loft or stairs!
My wife and I came through your town last Friday headed to Phoenix, my Mom passed on Sunday there. Unfortunately we went through at 11:45pm, but I did pull off the main road and turn around there, did a quickie burn out...lol. Gotta make the best of things. Thank you guys, you've motivated me when it seemed I had none left and you put a smile on our faces at a very trying time. "even though you were probably sleeping...lol". On our way home we took the main Highway and swung through to see Matt's shop... We are coming down in May for a week though and will swing by at some point...
PAUL! Test drive. Didn’t spill the dew. BIG WIN!!
LOL. THANKS AGAIN for the entertainment and inspiration.
Good to see your getting the full use on those brakes. Dang man you turned the dinner plates into saucer's
Yeah the Taco is back and has the 4 wheel drive fixed. Ready for Elk hunting now. The question is who will get the big Elk Hunter or Paul? So good to see Sean and Grandma Lolly checking on the boys! Excellent video and very informative!
Like arty Johnson's character on "Laugh - In" " veryyy interrrestin'
Oh I forgot no one there except Grammom
Was around to remember that TV show
Love you guys, and Paul ....29:10 = (whispers) "we'll just put that down there" you're a 1 of 1
Paul, you need to put out a vlog of your hunting adventures as a side channel or something. Thanks for the great content
Film your hunt please. You should know by now that people that like your channel are hands on, outdoorsy types. I doubt you'll offend anyone if you add that to your channel, you might even get more subs!
I disagree, I am an outdoorsy type but I don’t hunt. There are plenty of other channels for people who like blood and guts.
You proven wheel spacers can be used on off-road vehicles without reliability concerns
We had a whooper of a hailstorm back in the spring. It perforated the rag top of my Samari. Today we took a ride to view the Aspen leaf change. It rained and we had to put on our raincoats INSIDE the cab! Still better than dodging mud clods.
Still rolling my old '74 Blaze on a Dana 44 Tru Track up front... Had him since '76. 468 Cubics, TH350... EATS CUMMINS , DEFICATES POWERJOKES. 😂😂😂
Haha, the tire discussion brought back memories of when I was a kid in the '90s. I ran 35s on my 73 K10, at school I was known as the guy with the big ass truck.
Grandma Lolly needs her own t-shirt design.
Bring an elk home in the back of the Tacoma and life will be perfect! Good luck to you and your son Hunter!😮😅
You all should have a Taco Time t-shirt ready for when the LS and axle swap happens!
I like how Paul said " WE" broke off all the pinion teeth, with his foot on the throttle, lol
That green "universal alignment tool" is about the handiest tool in your shop.
Not Paul looking for hunters food and hunter already to put it away 😂😂 hunter was hungry.
Michelle’s Jeepster is first, after, after, after, after, LOL! I understand they are fixing things and not doing the major projects on the vehicles, but it cracks me up…”Don’t worry, Michelle’s Jeepster is first!”
When Shawn says we are going to take all the stuff off, he means he will do it all while Paul and his shadow drive around. Poor Shawn.
Shouldn't leave your tow truck bed down like that. The duke boys might come by and use it as a ramp while your gone.😂😂
Sorry Michelle. We need the Tacoma done first. 😁
I can't wait to see that baby all done.
Sunday videos are better than nfl games. Keep up the fun
20:01 left foot drop, right foot stomp 😂😂 boom
