I’m hearing so many objections if I didn’t know any better I’d think this was an Ace Attorney game
Hearing your lawyer object to every single question is a dead giveaway that you've hired an incompetent lawyer and the money you paid them was just pissed away. Especially when it's obvious to even a layman that the objections they're making are ridiculous.
Good lawyers know that objections are to be used only when absolutely necessary. Even if you have valid grounds for an objection. The harm you do to your own case in the eyes of the jury by objecting is going to be worse than whatever testimony you're attempting to keep out by objecting in most cases. And if you're objecting that much it's very likely that most of them are going to be baseless and will be overruled anyway. So now the jury is going to hear the testimony anyway, and they're going to be aware of the fact that you apparently think it's potentially damaging to your case.

Objection: Argumentative, speculation, leading the witness. Move on.
@@Rowgue51 i know nothing about any of this but that's very smart. I never thought about that.
@@Rowgue51 I think Cammille Vasquez would disagree and her embarrassment of Amber Heard's lawyer via repetitive frequent objections literally proves you're wrong regarding only bad lawyers object frequently and that they should be reserved and held to a minimum. She completely threw off that lawyer and made her look like a moron. almost all of Ms. Vasquez's objections were sustained and it disrupted the entire coherency and flow of Amber Heard's attorney's line of questioning, and as stated above made her look like a moron and incompetent attorney.
@@Thee-_-OutlierThe problem is you are not understanding what is said in here or what Cammille did. She did not object to every question asked. She objected to questions that she thought needed to be objected.
That is why a lawyers that objects to every question is a bad one. They think every question needs an objection. Cammille does not.
The hostile attorney sounds like he really wanted to be a police officer and couldn't even pass their rules of conduct.
That bar is so low that it's just a floor

I represented myself in a civil case in Texas. On court day, the Attorney representing the Dustrict, met with me and told me verbatim, "look, I'm a lawyer I'm going to win. He looked abut 65. He offered me to pay minimum fines I declined. What he did not know, was that I did in fact consult a lawyer who took 2 hours of her time to coach me as well as reference law for me. She stated all I had to do was ask certain questions to specific witnesses close with citing the State law and definitions. The other attorney definitely was not prepared, he didn't do any research didn't know the referenced law (my lawyer knew he had a habit of this I later found out). He really embarrassed himself by a dude literally reading from handwritten notes. I was in the Army at the time so I knew how to just be confident. The judge dismissed the case against me and requested that the other attorney meet with him later. If I hadn't sought counsel I don't think I would have won that.
@WorldFlex I hear you, but can we get our lawmakers to actually start reviewing, revising, and just culling burdensome, convoluted, impractical, irrelevant, outdated laws? :-/ We need it, but when are we gonna get it?
@@javierpatag3609 laws should have expirations. Naturally pare down the number because you simply could not read through all of them in time.
@WorldFlex The complexity of our legal systems is usually so because, in most cases, if there isn’t a law/rule specifically saying you can’t do something, people will take advantage of it to the detriment of somebody else (or, more often, somebody else’s business). Simpler legal systems are not necessarily better. There are certainly deadweight laws, but - from my admittedly mostly ignorant position as somebody who doesn’t study law - I don’t think there are quite as many as people often believe.
@WorldFlex Utter nonsense. If you don't know how to live within the law, it's because you don't want to know.
@@tsoliot5913 What on earth are you talking about. That simply isn't true. Expiration dates? What an utterly bizarre 'suggestion'. Have you actually thought that through?

He's WILD! 😂😂😂
As a dad I am going to rem we that one.
There's honestly nothing more frustrating than trying to tell somebody something and get the "don't try and tell me stuff, I'm older than you!"
Like, can we get objections to fallacies codified somehow? "I was doing this when you were still chasing cheerleaders" - "Objection: Appeal to accomplishment."
And frustrating your opponent can put them off their footing and cause them to make mistakes. This may have been strategic. He may have spotted his opponent's weakness and exploited it.
"Objection! Just because you were doing something while I was chasing cheerleaders doesn't mean you were any good at it."
And nothing more frustrating than a twit that thinks they know more.
He was just throwing them off their game, its a great strat

7:10 Getting real anime-protagonist vibes off of Tom right here, and I love it
Watching this video of this Lawyer feels like the origin story to a Super Villian
I love how, at the 11:57 mark, there’s a jump cut and the client rolls his sleeve up and clearly looks concerned. I’m guessing he’s either annoyed at the amount of time his lawyer is stretching this deposition out to be, or actively wondered that when the judge or special master is brought in, they’re gonna hit his lawyer hard and be pissed about having to intervene.
And, personally, I’d tell your editor to “consider” having that “reconsider” soundbite so that it can be humorously dropped into future videos.

One thing I really enjoyed was Tom talking about being bullied by “boomers” (older “professionals”) whilst being in work.
I honestly can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had people overlook/undermine me because I was too young - there’s a reason some of easily overtake people with “experience” in their field and that’s because they’re terrible at it.
It’s reassuring knowing that there’s other people - in different professions - that deal with these same problems I have cause boomers have read one book and think they know everything
Buddy just finished taking the bar yesterday this will be my new line to questions from him.
Oh man, I've waited for you to react to this
He actually didn't have a dog in the fight, he was an employee of a company, the lawyer was the company's lawyer not his own.
Tom make this a series the first deposition was amazing. 👏
i’m on my phone and there’s an ad from the comment section to the next video and suggestions. that ad, is morgan and morgan 😂😂
Oh he's the guy who got deposed himself isn't he? 🤣🤣
That was the best one.
I'm glad you mentioned Ted Mosby because when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was Ted Mosby (the architect) , and thought this might have been from the show.
This is the third "broken mic stand" video, from a year ago, that turned my in my "recommended". I'm a subscriber, now.
somebody better call the fookin special master
Somehow CZcams recommended the first 3 in the Broken Mic Stand series in order, but can't keep a TV show in order 😂😂
FYI this deposition is about two guys that worked for a prep test company. SATs I believe.
They decided to start there own test prep company and stole the several thousand questions their employer had made up themselves as basically a basis for their company's questions.
Some were changed but if I recall many were carbon copy including the three wrong questions in a multi choice etc
I believe they also may have tried to contact and snipe customers from confidential customer lists.
This lawyer was heavily sanctioned.
how difficult it would be not to let your jaw hit the table when the guy calls him "puppy"??? I would have gasped out loud before losing my shit
These deponents are actually the founders of Themis, a bar exam prep course. I think they might actually be lawyers themselves.
Every attorney I’ve ever met or worked with has been a hard-working, polite, and obviously passionate person, and I occasionally wonder why lawyering as a profession has such a bad reputation. Then I see videos of “that guy”, and you can just immediately tell that he’s made an ass of himself much like this so very many times.

I went Pro-se during family court, twice. The first time I won easily. The second time i got fisted. I didn't just get fisted, i got double fisted. Never go Pro-se.
It's astounding how subjective everything is for the court proceedings, what is professionalism? Can it be taken advantage of, why not have clear rules instead of wishy washy bs?

I’ve reconsidered subbing. The answer’s yes.
I was deposed once, basically i was a witness to an accident and it was the towns attorney and the kid's attorney. At the end the town's attorney started asking me a bunch of opinion questions about how one should drive or i how would drive in that area and the kid's attorney was objecting to everyone, but i would just answer. It was strange. I think they paid me too.
