In this game you find 8 maps, Normal and Elite.
Normal map have 18 Chapters, in Elite only 6.
Chapters x-3, x-6, x-9, x-12, x-15, x-18 on both maps can be repeated many times.
After each fight, improve the abilities of your heroes.

I can confirm that this works and no update is needed (as of Feb 2021). There is, however, variance in outcomes as each of the hero stats (e.g., critical hit %) vary in probability ranges from round to round. It took me about 7 attempts on Auto until a 3-star outcome was achieved. So, just keep trying :) Note, all heroes were gold with medals/stats maxed.
