Yo everyone, how's everything? My name is ✨dedeco✨ and this is my VIDEO GAME MUSIC DJ SET (or VGM DJ SET please algorithm show these videos when people search for VGM DJ SET. VGM is the same as video game music i promise) series! It is a series where I dig and select only the hottest tracks from (mostly) retro videogames (mainly ps1 and ps2 eras) and then I perform them live using my cheap ass dj controller and virtual dj 7 lol
I've been a dance music producer and DJ for a long time, so these are all video game OSTs that could possibly tear clubs up (we will get some extra chill vibes eventually tho). I want to make something that will show electronic music enthusiasts just how cool and important for dance music history video game soundtracks are!!!
I want to keep this series as legit as possible, so there won't be any remixes over here (specially no EDM mixes lol). Eventually there will be club edits from video game OSTs that I make myself. Those edits will keep all of the original tracks's essences, but will add a couple elements (most of the time just a kick drum) to make them more club-ready. i first watched your special1 for wipeout today randomly, and as a fan of the franchise i was blown away, even if you failed at the end it was the best wipeout mix on youtube hands down, i could see that you feeled the same about some of the music, like cold comfort synth, you knew your stuff!
And this one starting with that tekken one(also a big fan of old tekken music, new ones are too much wuub wuub)i was blown away again!

It's really a treat, to see you doing things I talked about doing in 2008 and was told I'd have to have s*** tons of money and it would never happen you're inspiring. You have proven my point that you can easily make really fun videos that people want to watch and mix it with high quality you do 2160p which is very uncommon still sadly while also doing live videos in a creative way couldn't put into words back then.😊 Well met, indeed.

I miss that aesthetic of late 90s and early 2000s drum and bass that was prevalent in media throughout that period, especially in games (Golden Eye Rogue Agent has one of my favorite dnb soundtracks from the legend Paul Oakenfold). There is just a magic to it that has been lost over time. Amazing mix!

Some games being released these days are harkening back to that, with a newer sound and evolution of that. It hasn't died, but merely undergoing a rebirth.

I love how you recorded this in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Not only does it suit the era, one of my computer monitors is a big 4:3, and videos like this look fantastic on it.

While I'm not sure I love talking about how an artist or person doing this work for us looks, I did notice that the eyes are always very tired with strong underline no sleep lines. It might be that he is like how I was in my twenties always staying up for a couple days on end because I was so fascinated by everything on the internet lots to research and learn and not enough time lol, Dial up through early cable years, and didn't think there was any time for sleep.. anyway to treat this as a mere observation without implying and trying to be clear that I have no judgment about any looks I would guess that dedeco does not get a lot of sleep, anything else is widely open to assumption and interpretation that we don't have the right to ask for explanations or details about He's living his life here sharing his love of music in the most intellectually creative ways not just VGM but especially think about where can you find video game play footage mixed with high quality and artistic created video content all jiving together and combined together like this It's been possible for a very long time but yet here we are barely finding it but definitely present here with dedeco. like I still haven't seen a DJ or video publisher on CZcams doing captions like this and mixing everything exactly how I've wanted to see for 30 years. That's not an exaggeration I remember when Tekken and all kinds of stuff came out and I was thinking about becoming a DJ VJ hybrid and everybody told me I was out of my mind and it would be hella expensive and never any return and I was already knee deep into a different career in a very opposite direction that wasn't going to allow me to dig into this other than extracurricular. So however Dedeco goes about living dedeco life is fine by me 👾🥂😎💕I hope he has many blessings and fun and joy and things to share for years to come.

This isn't just a great mix, this is a new type of experience - seeing the DJ perform live in virtual space with captions is wholly unique to me. The effort that went into the subtitles alone is praiseworthy. Not sure how to put it, but it feels like a new type of communication that uses music, visuals and text in tandem, only possible though the Internet. I am genuinely fascinated. Thank you a lot for this interesting experience.

@@Tsukareda It's by far and away more prevalent now. In the 90s and 00s you could go to many different scenes with entirely different atmospheres. Yes it was around but it was a lot more of a "just my cuppa tea" sort of thing. Dreamrock, Electronica/Raves, Alternative Rock, Country, DnB, Electronic Jazz, you name it... Now almost everyone invariably is listening to hip-hop. It's so profitable, that night clubs stick only to hip-hop and hip-hop influenced pop music. You can't get away from it anymore. It's also spread to other countries, and the entire night scene are to brim with hip-hop dungeons. The diversity is lacking in the public sphere.

Dude I gotta tell you how special these mixes are to me. My first impression of the last mix you made with the wacky thumbnail was that it was gonna be a bunch of weird stuff that wasn't gonna be for me. Oh my god I was dead wrong, so many of them are such unique bangers, and I have now since developed an addiction for Brawlers World and Lamp DX.
I know you've been working on this mix for a while and it shows. Each one of these tracks has this extra little sprinkle of creativity, especially with the mashups. Plus watching you work the equipment is a blessing (25:24 was so cool with the bass slider and the switching between the breaks). You always have so much fun doing this stuff. And the CCs are always a treat as well.

The greatest gaming console in my opinion. With such a vast selection of games many being very enjoyable to play. Where you never had to update your games. You never had to pay for online subscription. Load times were always fast. Where you were meant to have fun instead of wasting time grinding. I still like to play ps2 games to this day.

I feel it like yesterday - trying to beat main campaign in tekken 5 with this ugly 3d angle at hardest difficulty as JIN.
I played for the whole damn night and i dont wanna stop, bcs i had a mission.
At 7 am i was trying to beat the shit out of last ogre for the 30+ times and still got no success at all.
After discovering another boss phase of this fucking ogre on the attempt№42 i just broke my dualshock and went to sleep so angry in total trauma silence.
I think after that episode i just lost all of my energy and potential, but at least it was funny as hell. I was trying to hold my worst rage bcs my brother was sleeping next to me.
Looking back at this time make me feel free. I think the growth makes me so sad and traumatic.
Ur musical taste brings to me some beautiful feelings that i have lost.
